The Israelis have attacked Lebanon many, many times since 1950 after they forced ten of thousands of Palestinians on them.

"BEIRUT (AP) — Israel launched a rare airstrike that killed a senior Hezbollah military official in a densely populated southern Beirut neighborhood on Friday. It was the deadliest such strike on Lebanon’s capital in decades, with Lebanese authorities reporting at least 14 people killed and dozens more wounded in the attack.

The Israeli military’s chief spokesman, Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, said the strike on Beirut’s southern Dahiya district killed Ibrahim Akil, a commander of Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force, as well as 10 other Hezbollah operatives."

It is not just about those of the Jewish faith, this is a battle of democracy vs authortitarianism, backed in some cases by Big Brother China or Iran. Take Hamas for instance, there hasn't been an election in Gaza for 15 years or so. This is about protection of all people of different faith as Israel allows vs religious extremism as their enemies practice. This is about protecting their citizens from rocket attacks and the multitude of enemies who surround them. This is about a nation who mourns the loss of innocent civilian life, not desiring such outcomes vs those who celebrate the loss of innocent civilian life and encouraging attacks against them. Israel isn't perfect but they are dealing with multiple enemies who want them gone. Some so vile that they spend billions on money that was meant for their citizes on secret tunnels and weapons.
