Trump Keeps Calling The U.S. The ‘Highest Taxed Nation.’ It’s Not Even Close.

It’s actually in the middle or bottom tier of global tax rates, depending on how you measure.

Donald Trump likes to say the United States is the “highest taxed nation in the world.”

He said it Wednesday while attacking Hillary Clinton. He said it in May. He said it February. He said it last August. But it is not true at all.

When it comes to its tax rates, the U.S. ranks 17th, 19th or 31st among the world’s 33 developed nations depending on what metric you use, as Politifact has doggedly notedeach time Trump has wheeled out this lie.

576ae72b1500002f001bad61.png

Politifact also looked at numbers from the World Bank, which “placed the United States near the bottom in tax revenue as a percentage of GDP.” Another report from the World Bank and PricewaterhouseCoopers includes things like property and business profits, and it determined the U.S. ranked 64th out of 189 countries in total tax rate.

There’s just no way to slice the numbers to make Trump’s statement anything less than totally untrue. The simple fact is that the U.S. tax rate is near the middle or bottom compared to other countries.

Why does Trump lie about everything? Do his supporters believe all his lies - or do they just not care?

Since you were never going to vote for Trump, it matters little what any Clinton supporters says about anyone lying..

Fine name another country that pays more than the trillions of dollars the USA pays in taxes? OH SNAPPPPPPPPPPP!!

Are you that stupid - or just pretending? We're talking about Trump's lie about U.S. being highest taxed nation. Do you have anything relevant to contribute?

From the radical left, Hillary kowtowing Politifact;

{
Out of the 34 countries in the OECD, America ranks first with a 39.1 percent corporate tax rate, compared to an OECD average of 24.1 percent. The OECD figure is what’s called the statutory rate, meaning the base rate applied to corporate profits.

According to the Tax Foundation, two non-OECD countries -- the United Arab Emirates (55 percent) and Chad (40 percent) -- have a greater statutory rate than the United States. But the UAE is governed by a monarchy and Chad is a developing country, so we don’t think they would fit into the "free world" category Bolling used.

Yeah, no one ever specifies that when they want to paint the wealthy as tax victims .
