Trump Keeps Calling The U.S. The ‘Highest Taxed Nation.’ It’s Not Even Close.

Yeah, no one ever specifies that when they want to paint the wealthy as tax victims .

Too bad Wealth isn't taxable, huh!

Yes, it is. Where are Trump's tax returns?

Actually, wealth is taxed twice. Once when it is earned and again when the wealthy person dies.
.

No it isn't. The dead person doesn't pay the 'second' tax. The new owner does.

That money is taxed twice once upon earning it and the other when one person dies. It doesn't seem fair but hey the communist tax code has got to continue....

If you get a roof put on your house for $5000 and you pay the roofer that amount out of your savings which you collected from your own job, and that money was taxed,

the roofer gets the money, but he has to pay tax on it. The money is taxed twice.

Who was wrongfully taxed?

It seems like the left plays this game whenever they have to come up with a point which is to take whatever fact they find and apply it to something that it doesn't naturally apply to. It is like taking what is true for oranges and applying it to apples. It doesn't work.

It is true that these countries have a higher tax to GDP ratio but many of these countries also have a lower tax rates than the US. It is what 'conservatives' have been saying for years. Lowering tax rates actually increase revenue. I know the OP worked hard to drudge this up but your intellectual pile of shit just when KABOOM!
Tax rates are immaterial. it's what you actually pay that is important. Our tax code has so many deductions, credits, and loopholes, that most of the population pays little if any tax. The big corporation may have tax rate of 35%, but few pay anything even close to that.

Amazing how conservatives want all the things that make America exceptional and wonderful for next to nothing.

Maybe in Conservatopia that's how it works but in the real world, the best costs more.

So today I learned that cons now believe we pay the most in taxes but that's not what they say when the subject of single-payer comes up.
So I guess now European countries aren't that bad after all. According to cons they pay lower taxes. Combine that with healthcare for all and no premiums and they have it pretty good.

Nobody. I spent my after tax money for the roof and the roofer paid tax on his income.

"In fiscal year 2015, the federal budget is $3.8 trillion. These trillions of dollars make up about 21 percent of the U.S. economy (as measured by Gross Domestic Product, or GDP). It's also about $12,000 for every woman, man and child in the United States."

Someone is paying taxes.

It peaked in 2009 just after Obama took office and has been in a bit of a down trend since then. Historical, the average is about 19.3%. It was in a 18 year downtrend till 2000.

All I was saying is that tax revenue in 2015 was $3.18 Trillion.

Trump is a liar. It's probably the biggest reason the Republican Party admires him so. That's what they do. Trump is the perfect Republican.
