Been explained that it was the angle of the cameras and Trump never left his area...but damn, it does look like he is putting her in a hole where she belongs.

...A New York Times reporter said it. Trump repeated it to show just how insane the left really is.

He paraphrased (not "repeated") the insulting statement. What's more, he did so in order to use it in the context of praising the intelligence and loyalty of "[his] people"! In other words, he put his own crazy-ass spin on an obvious pejorative, not "to show just how insane the left really is", but to illustrate his confidence in the unquestioning loyalty of his own following. Talk about megalomania personified!
