Yes, some states are acting responsibly to try to provide insurance to those who do not have it. Imagine the kind of bill you'd get without insurance if you have to spend a week on a ventilator...........assuming one is available.

As usual in this epidemic, the President is many days too late and several dollars short. Lack of living wages, lack of universal health care, lack of sick time for low wage workers, lack of the availability of child care in poor neighbourhoods, lack of hospital beds, and equipment. All of the ways that the American economy has starved and exploited the working poor to the benefit of the shareholders and the wealthy, are now coming home to roost.

The President keeps talking about vaccines and repurposing factories to built respirators, by the time the first respirator rolls off the factory line, it will all be over but the funerals. By the time you have a vaccine, the mop up will be underway. You had two months to prepare and your President spent that time lying to the American people, and blaming Democrats, the media, and the Chinese. Because nothing is ever his fault.

40 years of Republican economic policies which have left American workers without cheap access to health care, or the money to adequately support themselves or their families, have left more than half the people of the USA with insufficient resources to deal with a $500 emergency. Well this is WAY more than a $500 emergency.

While the rest of the world was taking precautions, the USA did nothing because Dumb Donald doesn't want his poll numbers to drop. While the rest of the world's leaders are telling us how to protect outselves and our families, and what they can expect, over the next little while, Trump has these daily pressers where he lies to the American people, attacks the press and blames China, and his aides all lie and tell people their President saved so many lives closing the border, while walking back the other harmful lies he's telling.

While Americans try to figure out how to get money into workers' hands, and talking about "means testing", and should the money be passed through their employers, the rest of the world is using their social safety net to distribute cash to those affected, and universal health care to flatten the curve of infection. Taking the lessons of Italy and using what was learned to make the early choice of closing schools and non-essential businesses, and asking people to self-isolate.

Republicans in general, and Donald Trump in particular have successfully destroyed everything that 250 years have built.

There is absolutely no factual evidence to suggest our medical outcomes are the best in the world. They aren't even close to the best.
