He didn't take the 5th - he simply refused to anwer any questioins about the SDNY's investigation of Donald Trump because DOJ policy precludes him from discussing an ongoing investigation - of ANYONE.

It is illegal for a prosecutor to disscus Grand Jury Testimony outside of the jury room.

If your "attorney husband" doesn't know these basic legal facts, he must not be much of a lawyer. But he is right. When Trump took the 5th more than 400 times in his testimony and depositions, it was because he was guilty.
