Trump readies impeachment defense with eye on scoring political wins
Pat Cipollone, the top White House lawyer, spent the weekend working from his office on the second floor of the West Wing, preparing to defend a client who, at one point, was on the second floor of the executive residence suggesting the impeachment charges against him should be dismissed outright.

Looks like the Dems are shooting themselves in the feet with their impeachment crusade.. :(

He doesn’t need much defense when the Republicans in the Senate have decided that they just want a show trial.

Like the show impeachment by the Dems in the House (which couldn't even get bipartisan support, but got bipartisan disapproval)?

How much do you want to bet there will be a few Senate Dems that vote against conviction?

On the other hand, Mulvaney, Bolton, Giuliani and Pompeo are all relevant witnesses. If they want to claim executive privilege, then it’ll be an interesting test case to see if that claim stands up since its never been used before in this context.

How do you figure?

What would those 4 men testify to, that proves anything in this matter of impeachment ?

Further, Mr. Giuliani is the President's attorney, having a defendant's attorney testify in a trial is highly unusual.

He doesn’t need much defense when the Republicans in the Senate have decided that they just want a show trial.

A show trial would have a lot of witnesses, like Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, Ciaramella, Schiff, Comey, McCabe, Strzok, the Ohrs, Lynch, Barr, Durham, and the other deep state folks that got caught in the coup plots against Trump.
OTOH, the dems could call Bolton, Mulvaney, Pompeo and anyone else who would just claim executive privilege. That's the "show trial" view.

The "short trial" view just throws out all the 2nd hand evidence, and Article-2, and just dismisses them for lack of evidence and lack of constitutionality. Article-2 is thrown out because the USSC just took the Trump vs. House subpoena for his tax records, so Trump does in-fact have the right to appeal to the courts and that is NOT "obstruction of the House".
Supreme Court ruling pulls rug out from under article of impeachment
That doesn’t make any sense. None of those people you listed have anything to do with the actual allegations or impeachment against Trump. They’re just a list of people that Trump supporters want to get revenge on.

On the other hand, Mulvaney, Bolton, Giuliani and Pompeo are all relevant witnesses. If they want to claim executive privilege, then it’ll be an interesting test case to see if that claim stands up since its never been used before in this context.

You sound desperate.
Well, you should be!

Why bother even calling them to testify, Dems and the fake news are just going to make shit up anyway regardless of what they say.

Mulvaney is chief of staff and runs the OMB. He’s all over this. He would be able to testify to Trump’s statements regarding how Trump decided to hold the funding and how he decided to release it. He could tell us to what degree Trump’s thoughts on Biden played a role. Bolton, Pompeo and Giuliani all have first hand contact with Trump regarding this issue. They are prime witnesses.

Giuliani was not performing any legal services for Trump with regard to Ukraine and therefore cannot claim attorney client privilege.

First Impeached President ever to run for re election

Should make for some nice debates

Nobody really cares, except for you Trump-haters who aren't going to vote for him anyway.

Like he said, he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and people would still support him.

You mean like when Trump repeatedly lied about his phone call with Zelinsky?

The charge of "abuse of power" hinges on Trump asking zalinski to investigate bidens criminal activities.

So if Trump PROVES bidens criminal activities in a trial...that charge just kind of vanishes now doesn't it? :)

As long as Trump-Hate remains settled in their heads, they'll continue to fuck up!

Can’t wait for all the Impeached President political ads

I need a favor though

I agree they will be impressive, as they point out the President Trump was exonerated and declared as innocent as a newborn babe and the libs wasted hundreds of millions of dollars on the Witch Hunt.

Only Impeached President ever to try to get re-elected
Let the voters decide if he has been exonerated

Can’t wait for Trump to be forced to defend that call

Actually, its up to the Senate to decide if he's exonerated.

And Clinton did try to get reelected, running his Old Lady as his proxy and she got schlonged.

You mean in response to the circus and charade that took place in the house ? Yes it's time for a show (i.e. to show the Democrat's the error of their ways).
What was such a charade or circus about it?
All of it.

Trump doesn't have to "Defend" anything. Its up to the House Managers to prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt.

Perhaps Nazi shoulda called them to the House to ask them questions.

The voters have already decided. There's not even a need for an election, other than for appearances sake.
