Trump Removed from Maine Primary Ballot

Amazing how so many here are arguing in support of denying voting Americans the right to vote for the candidate of their choice.

Of course, this shows how much they fear Trump.
You can write in the candidate when voting. Trump is his own worst enemy.

So due process gets tossed out the window and replaced with hearsay?

This is due process in action. The SOS made a decision following the law of the state of Maine. Trump's lawyers responded to her request and had their say, as did those that filed the move to get Trump off the ballot. The decision by the SOS will now be appealed by Trump to a higher authority, the very definition of due process.

Do you think anyone and everyone that wants to be a state's ballot should be allowed to do so? Should each state allow anyone that wants to run for POTUS be on their ballot?

Due process isn't a SOS exercising that, in her opinion, Trump participated in an insurrection.

Explain why they have a line for write-ins then.

In the state of Maine it is. Trump's lawyers were involved in the decision, they did not protest the power of the SOS to do what she did, just her decision. The appeal does not question that the SOS of Maine has the power to do what she did.

Answer the damn question, what is wrong with you people? It is a simple yes or no question.

At least you’re consistent at being ignorant and wrong – you are the typical conservative.

‘The report from the CRS specified, "Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment does not expressly require a criminal conviction, and historically, one was not necessary."’

In fact, disqualification pursuant to Section 3 is a political – not criminal – process; absent jeopardy of loss of freedom by state action, due process does not apply and is not required to disqualify a candidate from holding public office.
Don't throw your back out running around with those goal posts, vermin.

To get on the ballot for POTUS in Maine, candidates must follow the process outlined by the Maine Elections Division1. The division is responsible for overseeing state elections and provides a comprehensive guide for candidates2.

According to the Maine Elections FAQ, candidates can qualify to have their names placed on the ballot for either the primary or general election by following the petition process1. The petition process requires candidates to collect a certain number of signatures from registered voters2.

Trump fulfilled that....

Is a Criminal Conviction Needed for Ballot Removal?

The report from the CRS specified, "Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment does not expressly require a criminal conviction, and historically, one was not necessary."
Must be why the 14th gives only the Congress the power to enforce it, and not any court of SOS.

You lose again, loser.
