Former President Donald J. Trump is safe after law enforcement officials said there was a shooting on the grounds of the Trump International Golf Course West Palm Beach on Sunday. A campaign spokesman said there had been gunshots in Mr. Trump’s “vicinity,” although it was not immediately clear whether the gunfire was connected to the former president.
The Secret Service said it would release additional information soon about the shooting, which came less than two months after Mr. Trump was wounded in an assassination attempt at a rally in Butler, Pa. A spokeswoman for the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said a “person of interest” had been detained.
