Impeached Trump's premise is that when voters go to the polls after voting by mail, they either won't be voting by mail because their mail-in ballot was not counted; or they won't be voting in person because their mail-in ballot was already counted. Either way, that results in only one vote being cast.

It is not the counting of the vote twice that makes the act illegal. It is the fact that the voter attempted to vote twice. However, the voter could go to poll and ask for a provisional ballot because he fears his mail-in vote was not counted. Whether he get's a provision ballot depends on state laws and regulation. Since large numbers of mail-in ballots arrive on election day and provisional ballots have to be handle manually which is very time consuming, I don't think the states would allow this.

Most mail-in ballots are not going to be counted before the election day. And even if they were, it is very unlikely a poll worker would be able to check to see if the vote has begin registered. The voter could ask for a provisional ballot because he thinks his mail-in vote will not be counted but it's very unlikely that the state would allow that. However, if the mail-in voter goes to polls and as Trump suggested, attempts to cast a vote, he would be in violation of election law.

Of course, the purpose in what Trump is suggesting is not to create duplicate votes nor insure all mail-in votes get counted but rather to flood the polling places with mail-in voters in order to create the mess that he has been forecasting. Their information is stored digitally. If they qualify to vote, relevant data is transmitted to the Secretary of State's office to register them to vote.

Because what you're claiming doesn't exist. In California, motor voter is an automated system. There are no voter registration cards. People in California go to the DMV to obtain a driver's license. Their information is stored digitally. If they qualify to vote, relevant data is transmitted to the Secretary of State's office to register them to vote.

I lived in California and was handed a voter registration form as I walked into the DMV office. With me there were people who spoke no english. Mexicans, hardly legal citizens. Anyone and everyone that walked through that door was handed a voter registration form.

Further, anybody who asked for, filled out a form at an emergency room for CalMed or public health insurance was given a voter registration form.

That is my experience. I am not claiming, I am stating my experience as fact. What California does today could be different, I am speaking of yesterday.

Voter fraud. One of the defining reasons on its integrity is that it is voting done by separated precinct s through the nation. There are way too many accountable people involved organized voter fraud just cant existed easily at all in modern times. But sides have the opportunity to poll watch at every step of the way.
