Much could be speculated about whether a sitting president can or cannot be charged with obstruction of justice.....The media whore, Dershowitz has sided with the camp that states that a sitting president is virtually above all laws with the exception of treason.....Many other knowledgeable attorneys (prosecutors) vehemently disagree and argue that there is nothing in the Constitution that exempts ANY president from abiding with the law.
Anyway.....trump's WORST mistake was made when, recently, he tweeted that he fired Mike Flynn for lying to the V.P. Pence (perfectly acceptable) and also fired him for lying to the FBI (totally UNACCEPTABLE).........
Why?
Simple, with that admission, Trump has basically stated that he knew (or should have known) that lying to the FBI is a felony....and in his attempts to get Flynn"off the hook" is tantamount to obstructing the carrying out of justice against a de facto felon........and THAT is why one of trump's attorneys (laughably) tried to state that it was he who wrote the tweet....
Now, the only other escape route for Trump is the debate whether indeed a sitting president is or is not above the law........Either way, the ethical (if not legal) conclusion is obvious.
