Two from World War I to get Medal of Honor

Could have been bigotry, but it also just might have been the terrible record keeping and inefficiency that existed in the US military at that time due to the simple fact that they went from a pre WWI strength of around 25,000 to well over 5 million in the space of a year.

Hell, the Purple Heart Medal for being wounded didn't even exist until 1932. And then you had to apply for the medal you had so rightly earned such was the state of Armed forces record keeping.
