U.S. Plans to Hit EU With Steel, Aluminum Tariffs

Good news is tariffs have never worked well for a country... stocks tanking again.
If Germany doesn't want us to raise tariffs on their goods then they need to lower their tariffs on ours. It worked well for Germany, thats the fucking problem!
Which of our goods have high tariffs in Germany? What do you expect they will start buying more of?
Motorcycles, Levi's, Leather goods, Autos, a lot of stuff.
How high are the tariffs? Autos? Good luck with that.
Chancellor Angela Merkel’s government is already sounding out the German car industry on whether it would support a reduction in the 10 percent EU tariff on autos to avoid a trade dispute, the Sueddeutsche Zeitung reported on Tuesday. Carmakers responded positively to the idea, the newspaper said, citing industry sources.
Germany at Odds With France Over Tariffs on U.S. Cars

So, most of us know if we want to bring our car from the U.S. into Germany (sans military people), we have to pay taxes. From my understanding, there is a 19% import value added tax and a 10% import duty, so 29% tax. How To Germany - Importing a Car Into Germany

From your link:
The average European Union tariff on goods imported from around the world is 3 percent, while the average U.S. duty on foreign products is 2.4 percent, according to the WTO.

If they lower theirs to ours I can’t see it effecting our production.

I also can’t seem them buying up our cars...

import value added tax, import duty, not a tariff. And a Tangerine is not an Orange.

I believe VAT is charged on German cars also.

Trudeau of Canada a week ago said...he would rather be out of NAFTA
than agree to a bad deal. (Having to trade equally with America). Here
ya go Justin. Here's something to dwell on.

Piento in Mexico. "We will never pay for that wall." Hey, man...we just got
the down payment.

Hey EU. "Y'all think Iran can make up the difference?"

Now comes the behind closed door stuff, out of earshot of the Canadians,
Mexicans and Western European citizens.

Couple of weeks...then we'll have a change of heart. NAFTA will be to
our liking and The EU is going to push for a new deal between the US
and the Iranians.

They'll all be good Allies again...we just have to coax them some.

Whoo hoo! Trade wars!

With our allies for some stupid reason....
Reducing our trade deficit and forcing our lies to contribute commensurate money for their defense

It's really sad that so many leftists in America think those things are stupid

Ronald Reagan supported free trade and he was not a leftist. Leftists support tariffs.

Supporting the use of whatever tools are at your disposal =/= supporting tariffs as a long term policy

Trump is using this as a negotiating tactic.

Except they might not fold has he desires. They might just band together and put their own tariffs up. Then what?

I don't know...Canada, EU, Mexico, Japan....if they came together? And then there is China.

They discover they can't replace the U.S. Market. Meanwhile we withdraw
from NATO and leave them to defend themselves.

Need to obliterate treaties of the past and create new ones for the future. Turkey should not be an ally. Germany should provide for it's own defense. The world is getting off on the cheap because they rely on us to do stuff for them. Pay for researching drugs, pay for defense, etc.
