Unfettered Capitalism

Liberals love this phrase. Maybe I have a limited vocabulary, but I wasn't really sure what "fettered" meant. So I looked it up:

fetter.jpg

Any questions?
Yeah. Why do you think the super rich ought to have total unaccountable power over your life?

I don't. Spare me the strawman.
That's what "unfettered capitalism" is. An amoral system where the super rich are untouchable by the same system of laws that can easily cost you everything.

Workers of the world unite, Comrade!

This Communist message has been brought to you by Tums. You're going to need it ...

Nonsense. That's like saying free society is an amoral system where no one is accountable. Being held accountable is not the same as living in chains. That's the difference. Dems don't want rich people held accountable for misdeeds. They want them controlled.

In capitalism you get to decide what you will buy among many options and how much you pay for it.
Surely you don’t mean that...
Can I buy a yacht and pay a nickel for it?
Can I even buy a pickle for a nickel?
And I don’t even want a pickle...

Don't be that way, Tom. You know damn well that in a capitalist system the seller also has the choice to accept the price for his/her product or service. IOW, he/she can say no. In other economic models that may not be the case.

This is how stupid Democrats are.

You don't want businesses to have to compete for your business. Too risky, they would take advantage of you.

So you want government to eliminate competition and force us all to have the same thing.

Talk about "unaccountable."

The funny part being you proved the point that people use terms they don't understand.

Occupied: I want ONE choice, I don't want some unaccountable choice ...
Quit confusing free enterprise with capitalism. They are not the same thing.

Capitalism just means economic freedom. Suppliers, consumers, employees, employers make their own best decisions. It's the opposite of socialism where the State makes our economic decisions. Only government can do that because only government can use guns to force us to make decisions against our own interests.

You know, the guns you demanded shouldn't be involved in abortions, but if someone gets a wallet out with our own money, you want government to surround us with guns.

I don't like the guns making our choices all the time

We're not truly free unless we can force other people to give us their stuff. !?!?

It's called President GW and caused a world wide depression.

It really was the combination of Clinton and W who caused the great recession. It was Clinton's policies that were continued through W until the bubble burst
The bottom line is that, as always, both parties agreed the US economy needed a party and looked the other way.

I presume you never worked at a municipal, state or federal agency where corruption abounds.
Or you can work for a financial institution where corruption abounds.

True free market capitalism fell when Mogadishu fell. Right wingers simply ignore our Commerce Clause.

You remind me of those who claim I'm an anarchist when trying to advocate for less government control over anything.

Painting someone as an extremist to diminish a valid argument is all the Left ever does.

It gets old after a while.

You have a problem understanding what choice means? I said nothing about force, did I?

They get their economic "training" from talk radio.

On no other issue is their Trumpian arrogant ignorance more on display.

“Unfettered Capitalism“ is...

a) My granddaughter selling lemonade in the park, her dog running freely off his leash
b) Trump selling Syrian oil, which our soldiers have taken illegally
c) The Fed printing trillions in credit...
d) The Treasury printing fiat money...
e) My singing the pickle song to my granddaughter.

Pick as many as you like, or create your own choices.
But try to keep a sense of humor, please!

I got my economic training at a top 10 business school and working in investment banking on wall street.

You're just a salesman, you wouldn't understand
