You must realize that every Bill that is passed contains more legislation than just the title of the Bill.
The legislators will raise the MW and will raise taxes targeting that wage level.
One of the reasons they will raise taxes targeting that wage level is because they will pack one or more pet projects into that bill that will need more tax dollars to pay for it.

Higher paid labor creates more in Demand and pays more in Tax revenue in every long run equilibrium.
