I'll explain it to you. Most guns used in crime are illegally obtained. The criminal seller of illegal guns is NOT going to run a background check on the criminal to whom he's selling illegal guns. Do you know why?

Because criminals don't obey the law, that's why.

So all you're left with is a sign -- which, as we've seen time and again, criminals ignore. They may even plan their crimes around them, because they know no one inside the facility will be armed.
