Cohen had to appear before the court and confirm the facts of the case as part of pleading guilty.

No jury was required to convict him, he admitted it was true. Then turned over all the supporting documentation to the prosecutors. Information and records that can now be part of the Trump business record falsification case. Such as the audio records that Cohen made of Trump on the matter.
