We turned off the Pavlovian Hallmark siren years ago. Entire extended family. The only exceptions were the family kids, and that was limited. Otherwise charity donations instead of presents.

Majority Of Americans Would Skip Holiday Gift-Giving, Survey Says

I voted 'No', and I am no longer Santa for my kids. Since they are 31, 32, and 34, it has been a while since I was.

But I give in the spirit of Santa every year. My donations to charities (and sometimes to people) are anonymous. It is not about getting credit for my gifts or getting a tax deduction. It is about giving from the heart to those in need.
