Investigators said that George Ramirez, 27, was walking home from a nightclub when he was approached by four to five armed men who opened fire on him.

Ramirez was also armed and fired back at the suspects, police said. Ramirez was hit once in the back, but was able to kill one of the suspects and wound another.

Hmmm.. walking home from a nightclub at 6 AM in the morning, a bunch of guys started shooting it out.

I'm starting to think alcohol was involved, but this is not the "upstanding citizen defending his home" kind of thing you are making it out to be. Sounds more like someone said something in a bar and hilarity ensued.

I once hit him in the gut with an aluminum softball bat...he barely noticed, except to knock out two of my teeth. He backed down in a hurry when looking down the barrels of a loaded, cocked shotgun, safety off & finger on the triggers. Without the shotgun, he'd have killed me, eventually.

I did. They showed up, spent 15 minutes laughing and joking with him, and left, after telling him to "not leave too many bruises". He beat me unconscious with a skillet and probably fractured my skull. (His close friend was a police lieutenant, he knew both the officers they sent.) He wasn't "a bully", he was my psychotic father.

There are shops that sell shotguns, and I daresay there are some shops that sell rifles.
But they are rare, and you would have to travel to a city to find one. You do not see ammunition on sale anywhere except the specialist gun shops, and you have to have a firearms certificate from the police to buy any.
