Yep, before the grocery lobby got involved to cash in on the grift that is how it was done......USDA staple boxes were issued to the needy who were vetted before hand. Think .gov cheese.

While providing food baskets instead of a pre-loaded EBT card would be a logistical nightmare, we should at least restrict food stamps to the basics:

1. Milk and cheese
2. Bread and eggs
3. Canned fruits and veggies
4. Ground beef
5. Chicken breasts
6. Generic PB and Jelly
7. Generic Pasta and pasta sauce
8. Generic cereal
9. Generic tuna, light


That’s it. Anyone who wants anything beyond this can get a job, or just go without. The entire lower-middle class is making sacrifices due to Biden’s inflation, buying generic, buying canned goods, etc., so the government charity recipients are not entitled to better.
