Trump had the border perfect. Illegals were to "remain in Mexico" for their hearing.

Biden let 12,000,000 illegals into the US, including 100,000 Chinese, 50,000 Russians, thousands of criminals and terrorists, including ISIS. Biden/Harris is a National Security disaster.
You’re only proving that a legislative fix is necessary.

Unless…

For how long do you guys plan on making Trump president?

The gop, the house passed a immigrantion bill back in the summer of 2023

It’s been sitting on chucks desk
The house also passed nearly 100 bills to repeal or modify Obamacare, that similarly died in the senate.

What's your point? That republicans pass bills they know won't go anywhere? But make a good political talking point that they're doing something?

After that latest supreme court ruling that the president has absolute immunity for presidential acts. He who controls seal team six, controls the election.

My point is we are talking about an immigration bill. That's what this thread is about.

what a weird post....

Make the case for a "legislative fix".
Trump had the border perfect.
All "encounters" had to remain in Mexico for their hearing. Perfect.

Trump left office and the border stopped being “perfect”.

That’s the case for the legislative fix. Presidents can’t change laws.

It wasn't bipartisan, no democrats included.
So the point of contention is "open borders" or regulated immigration, with illegal crossers getting sent back.
Democrats want open borders and high inflation, Republicans want controlled immigration and prosperity.

Biden & Mayorkas violate immigration law every day.
"Such a dismal rate of removals makes clear that President Biden, ‘border czar’ Kamala Harris, and now-impeached DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas are committed to ignoring U.S. immigration law, while attempting to hide that fact from the American people," says Chairman Green

Not a violation of law, otherwise conservatives would have been able to take it to court. The law is horrendously outdated. It’s a total failure of our government that we can’t get Congress to fix issues.

Any policy Trump sets can be undone by a future president.

So if that’s the way you want to go, just how long do you intend to keep Trump president?

I actually think that there is a legislative fix for our borders and our immigration system.

1. End all border asylum requests. If someone shows up at our border and requests asylum or refuge, they get turned away BY LAW.

All requests for asylum must be made through a US Embassy located in either their home country or an embassy located in one of the countries they travel through.

2. All persons seeking asylum or refuge from political persecution will be REQUIRE to wait outside the United States until such time as their petition can be reviewed and adjudicated.

3. All visas permitting visitors to the United States will be required to provide a known residence where they will be staying while in the United States and will be subject to verification during the timeframe of the visit. Failure to leave at the end of your Visa authorization is a felony, punishable by no more than 10 years in Federal prison, and subject to a permanent, lifetime ban from entering the United States.

4. Immigration to the United States is a privilege, not a right. Applications to immigrate into the US has a few minimum requirements. They are:
a. You must bring some economic value with your immigration. A viable education, trade, or proven track record of a successful business.
b. You will conform to the values of the United States. This means obeying our laws, speaking our language (English), and never flying any nation's flag above ours.

These are just a few items that could be fixed legislatively.

All immigration requests WILL BE INITIATED from OUTSIDE our nation.

You had a mostly republican immigration bill that they knew would go nowhere, and you had the bi-partisan immigration bill that Trump told the republics to kill.

Which was done under a "national emergency" which the USSC ruled had ended

U.S. Supreme Court cancels arguments over Title 42, the pandemic-era policy to quickly turn away migrants

The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday canceled arguments in a case over the emergency health order the federal government has used for nearly three years to quickly turn away migrants, including those seeking asylum, at the southern border.

The justices didn’t give an explanation for why they pulled from their schedule the March 1 hearing on the emergency health order known as Title 42, which has been used to expel migrants 2.6 million times since March 2020.

People who aren’t expelled from entering the country under Title 42 are processed under immigration laws in which a migrant can request to open an asylum case or be deported. Whenever the federal government stops its use of Title 42, immigration officials will process all migrants under the usual immigration laws.

There was a bill passed by one chamber passed summer of 2023…they harris and xiden told the dems to sit on.

Then there was a bipartisan bill in the senate, that harris and xiden told the dems to sit on, and then dusted it off months later during the election once they realized the voters cared about the border, that even one of the writers of the legislation said was being used as a political prop. It’s sad that dems think of immigrants as props

1. The current Law is subject to interpretation. Do migrants get the benefit of the doubt when they say they are "applying for asylum" like democrats say, or does their application get scrutinized like by Republican administrations? HR-2 is the Republican solution, the Senate version is the democrat version, neither version will become LAW any time soon.

2. True, Trump's policies can be undone by democrat admins, like Biden undid Trump's perfect border policy.

3. We don't need Trump to stay president, any Republican will keep his policies.

You should sent that to the House and Senate reps that worked on HR-2 and the Senate Bill. That would make a great new Law.
