What happens when democrats take back power?

Why would we want the Dems to help make decisions? All they want to do is destroy the country. Their attempt to get DACA passed without agreeing to tightening border security proves what scumbags they are.

Because, my friend ... otherwise, you have a government with no consistency over time.

The only kind of "consistency" your plan would give us is constently bad.

Okay. Say the republicans shove their tax plan through, which they probably will ... unless there's some rule I'm not aware of preventing it, why would the democrats, when they come back into power, not simply rip up said tax plan and shove their own through?

The only reason they wouldn't is if they OWNED part of it. If they also worked on the tax plan, their incentive to flush it down the toilet later on is greatly diminished. The way things are now, each party is just going to undo everything the other spent years trying to achieve every time power switches hands. In other words, not only does nothing really get done, but our markets are constantly shifting to accommodate these sweeping changes that are already doomed to begin with. And everyone knows the markets love stability.

The Dims will work incessantly to implement their tax agenda, regardless of what Republicans implement, so the latter should grab everything they can get. The farther they push taxes in one direction, the longer it will take for the Dims to destroy what they have done. There is nothing to be gained by throwing the Dims a bone.

Furthermore, in order for voters to understand the benefits of cutting and simplifying taxes, it's important to keep their plans free of Dim corruption that will only reduce those benefits.

Wait, why do you think going farther in the other direction is going to make it harder to repeal? I'm pretty sure that isn't how it works.

Anyway, you think what you want. I'm just telling you what the reality is.

No, you're telling me your opinion, and nothing more.

It will be harder to repeal because Americans don't like paying taxes. They're about as popular as a root canal.

Which kind of competent leadership? Socialism or Communism?

I don't subscribe to ideologies like that. One issue at a time.

Well......what do you think younger people believe in? Sanders was almost your President. Sanders is an admitted Socialist. Many believe if Hilary didn't fix the race, he could have won the nomination and beat Trump.

People loved Sanders because the other candidates were godawful nightmarish human beings. If we had a more serious option we would take it.

Then I think perhaps you should dig up some polls on Socialism and younger people and analyze what they say. It's actually pretty frightening.

Anyway, it's us old baby boomers that are keeping us out of the clutches of Socialism and Communism. Once we are gone and the country abandons capitalism, it's gone forever. There will be no bringing it back; kind of like Obama Care. It's impossible to go back to where we were before it plagued us.

Currently, if somebody doesn't like our system in this country, they are free to try other government systems to see how they like it first. They can move to Cuba, North Korea, China, a number of places in Europe. And once they figure out it isn't that great in other places, they can move back here. But once the USA is gone, there is no other USA to move to. It will be the end of the Great Experiment forever.

You are being paranoid and forming your perception of millennials on people who are still in college. Remember the hippies? Same boomers you say are saving us from socialism and communism today.

Most people do their growing up in their later teens to mid 20's. After that, change is very difficult if not impossible. Believe it or not, I used to be a pot smoking, long haired liberal that played lead guitar in rock bands. I was anti-cop, anti-war, and my only core conservative value was working for what you want in life.

Things changed when I started to work full-time and eventually get my own apartment at the age of 20. I took a job that frequently sent me to the ghettos of Cleveland and nearby cities. Afterwards I worked jobs that had six to seven day schedules, or took on two jobs at the same time.

Millennials are past that age now. Their minds are pretty much set.

I'm one of the older millennials at 28. And that still ain't shit. A lot of millennials are still in their late teens to early twenties.

The biggest problem in this country is that right-wing nutjobs actually believe the incredibly stupid shit they've written in this thread. There is no rational way to understand why their thinking, like their entire view of reality, is so... twisted and delusional.
What are you - some kind of a saint?
No. Its you leftist traitors that need a huge, unaccountable, and bankrupt government to think and do everything for you. That alone makes you one stupid sunbich.
I'm not a leftist you stupid fuck.

I actually support a couple of trump's efforts. But, overall, I think trump is a disastor for America. And we'll be dealing with the damage his stupidity and arrogance are doing, for decades.

And I don't count on the "government" to do shit for me. Overall you're simply hateful and stupid. You don't know shit about me, dumbass. I'm pretty much in the middle. What I want is some sanity. I want what is best for America as a whole.
You stupid ass. You want sanity, yet you are totally insane. You are a leftist - yet you are too damn stupid to even realize it. Trump is down the middle on many issues dumass. If you don't support Trump, you're supporting the left. Idiot.
You're truly hopless. A fucking imbecile.

No wonder you support trump without qualification, you worthless piece of shit.

With any luck the Dems will take back the Senate and never again will the same party hold both of them. That would be the best possible thing to happen for the country.

For the future of working class Americans Democrats NEED to take back all. The bad part for conservatives in this country will be when millennial's grow up and find out they'll never be able to financially retire.

Because they will eventually. The house, the senate, and/or the oval office. They will regain control, especially given how unpopular this administration and the republican party currently are.

We'll have to go through ALL this bullshit again. They'll just rip down everything Trump and the republicans are doing right now, since it's all being pushed through reconciliation. So everything going on right now is basically a waste of time, effort, and taxpayer dollars.

Does no one else take issue with that? Am I the crazy one?
I'll tell you what will happen. Everything that the progressives are doing today will be visited upon the Democrat President and Congress multiplied by 10. You can bet that everything that the progressive President will try to do will be met with court challenges and all the other stupid tricks being played out today.

And then when the pendulum swings back, they'll do the same and multiply it by 10 as well.

Because min. wage jobs are not meant to make a living off of.

They are for getting through high school/ college / maybe a few years after college if you're unlucky and having trouble getting a job.
Social services cost around fourteen dollars an hour, anyway.

Better it comes from the tax payer. Unless you want way more min. wage jobs being replaced with machines or just scrapped.
That doesn't seem to be the case in Washington State.

There is no set 100% definition. I googled it and what I saw mentioned the range as such.

It's really kind of irrelevant, tbh. Not sure why you're so fixated on this.

How did I challenge you? We have conflicting evidence on a detail that is irrelevant. I am not interested in quibbling over the vaguely defined age range of a generation.

Millennials (also known as Generation Y) are the demographic cohort following Generation X. There are no precise dates for when this cohort starts or ends; demographers and researchers typically use the early 1980s as starting birth years and the mid-1990s to early 2000s as ending birth years.

Wikipedia. And, while Wikipedia isn't good enough for a research paper, it's certainly good enough for a quick google search on something fairly irrelevant.
