What happens when democrats take back power?

Because they will eventually. The house, the senate, and/or the oval office. They will regain control, especially given how unpopular this administration and the republican party currently are.

We'll have to go through ALL this bullshit again. They'll just rip down everything Trump and the republicans are doing right now, since it's all being pushed through reconciliation. So everything going on right now is basically a waste of time, effort, and taxpayer dollars.

Does no one else take issue with that? Am I the crazy one?

No, you're not crazy. There is a partial solution to the current chaos which which proves Franklin's remark, "You have a Republic, if you can keep it.".

  • The repeal of both Citizens United Decisions,
  • Making Defamation ("lock her up") a felony
  • Allowing public servants defamed to bring forth their accuser(s) and have them testify under oath to the truth of their allegation by providing evidence.

Considering that all trump and the republicans have been doing has been to "rip down" our country and strip it bare, the Democrats will have a lot of cleaning up and rebuilding what has been ruined by these animals.
Obama trashed this country to the point that it took somebody like Trump to clean and rebuild.
The pervert is attempting to destroy us. President Obama tried to build this country up. Now we will have to cleanse our nation after the destruction created by the current whore in the Oval Office. trump is a completely despicable dirty creature bent on destroying the U.S.A. He is complete filth.

You must have a pretty perverted view of what it means to "build this country back up."

DumBama was the most anti--business President in our lifetime. Forcing citizens to buy something they may not want, need, or can afford is the most anti-American policy any politician has ever come up with. In a later post you said you saluted your television set when our astronauts landed on the moon, but now you stick up for a guy what was supported by the US Communist party both elections.
Anti-business? Is "business" our major value? This country is a homeland for its people, a place to live, not a business commodity. President Obama was motivated to make this place a better home and made every effort in this direction. "Business" is fine as long as it realizes its place in our society and conducts itself accordingly.
Now he has been replaced by a cheap admitted whore who is trying to destroy our homeland. What he is destroying must be built back up after he is finished wrecking it, which I hope will be soon. I salute the country. I did not stand to salute Wall Street. I do not salute greedy trash who have no respect for their fellows and who tear down our values and dignity every day.

My, so many generalizations (like so many liberals do) and no specifics.

Yes business is a major value. Without business, you would have no stores to buy products. Without business, people would not have any jobs. Without business, we would have no stock market in which to secure our future-- particularly our retirement future.

Since business is responsible for jobs, tax creation, products, economy, financial future, how could you even ask if they are a major value?

Because min. wage jobs are not meant to make a living off of.

They are for getting through high school/ college / maybe a few years after college if you're unlucky and having trouble getting a job.

Was it a waste of time when Barack Obama was pushing through his agenda with Executive Orders? (Not reconciliation!)

Yes. He should've done things the right way. Why do you think we're in this mess now? Because the Rs and the Ds can't play nice.

He didn't though...did he? When Obama won election back in '08 he lectured the GOP leadership on the fact that elections have consequences yet a scant two years later after getting "shellacked" in the Mid Term elections...Barry lectured the entire country that he had a pen, a phone and would use them to rule by Executive Orders! That isn't two political parties refusing to play nice...that's ONE party ignoring the will of the voters!

So now we have round no.2 with Trump issuing EOs left and right and the republicans refusing bipartisanship. Where does it end? Well, probably not until the boomers are out of power. Then maybe we'll have some competent leadership with the Gen X'ers.

Which kind of competent leadership? Socialism or Communism?

Ah, but the difference between rounds 1 and 2 is that Trump is now issuing Executive Orders to force through legislation that the established 'Good Ole Boy's' (and Gal's!) club in the House and Senate won't pass because they've been bought off by so many special interest groups! This is less about left and right then it is about the Establishment in Washington and an outsider who is stepping on toes!

Well......what do you think younger people believe in? Sanders was almost your President. Sanders is an admitted Socialist. Many believe if Hilary didn't fix the race, he could have won the nomination and beat Trump.

Social services cost around fourteen dollars an hour, anyway.

Better it comes from the tax payer. Unless you want way more min. wage jobs being replaced with machines or just scrapped.

You're definitely not alone, and in fact this is essentially the essence of the thread linked in the last line of my sig.

Both parties - and this is only getting worse - vastly over-interpret their perceived "mandate" and proceed immediately to shove their agenda right down our throats. That, predictably, pisses enough people off that they're soon voted out of office in favor of the other guys.

In this case, we may see Trump and the Trumpsters do exactly that, and the Democrats will jump right back in. The problem is that, as bad as the GOP is, the Democrats are still controlled by the Regressive Left, who will go right back to doing the types of things that made Trump attractive to so many in the first place.

These parties are so narcissistic, so full of themselves, so blinded, that even something this obvious escapes them.

Why would we want the Dems to help make decisions? All they want to do is destroy the country. Their attempt to get DACA passed without agreeing to tightening border security proves what scumbags they are.

Okay. Say the republicans shove their tax plan through, which they probably will ... unless there's some rule I'm not aware of preventing it, why would the democrats, when they come back into power, not simply rip up said tax plan and shove their own through?

The only reason they wouldn't is if they OWNED part of it. If they also worked on the tax plan, their incentive to flush it down the toilet later on is greatly diminished. The way things are now, each party is just going to undo everything the other spent years trying to achieve every time power switches hands. In other words, not only does nothing really get done, but our markets are constantly shifting to accommodate these sweeping changes that are already doomed to begin with. And everyone knows the markets love stability.

Then I think perhaps you should dig up some polls on Socialism and younger people and analyze what they say. It's actually pretty frightening.

Anyway, it's us old baby boomers that are keeping us out of the clutches of Socialism and Communism. Once we are gone and the country abandons capitalism, it's gone forever. There will be no bringing it back; kind of like Obama Care. It's impossible to go back to where we were before it plagued us.

Currently, if somebody doesn't like our system in this country, they are free to try other government systems to see how they like it first. They can move to Cuba, North Korea, China, a number of places in Europe. And once they figure out it isn't that great in other places, they can move back here. But once the USA is gone, there is no other USA to move to. It will be the end of the Great Experiment forever.

The Dims will work incessantly to implement their tax agenda, regardless of what Republicans implement, so the latter should grab everything they can get. The farther they push taxes in one direction, the longer it will take for the Dims to destroy what they have done. There is nothing to be gained by throwing the Dims a bone.

Furthermore, in order for voters to understand the benefits of cutting and simplifying taxes, it's important to keep their plans free of Dim corruption that will only reduce those benefits.

Wait, why do you think going farther in the other direction is going to make it harder to repeal? I'm pretty sure that isn't how it works.

Anyway, you think what you want. I'm just telling you what the reality is.

You are being paranoid and forming your perception of millennials on people who are still in college. Remember the hippies? Same boomers you say are saving us from socialism and communism today.
