All I can say is if my church did that, I'd be looking for a new church.

The bible says that there will be a great apostasy in the last days. (2 Thess 2:3, 2 Timothy 4:3-4 etc.) So the closer we get to the end of this age, the more that churches are going to fall away from the truth and promote worldly stuff.
