What's Your Opinion On Karaoke?

Do you have to be the greatest singer in the whole world or should it just be a fun activity no matter what you sound like? This was a conversation that just came up today and I was wondering what everybody thought.

Also each DJ's setup is different for requesting songs. But if you go up to the DJ and say you've never done it and just tell him your song, they'll usually set it up for you and tell you how long before you go up.

The only thing that I don't like about karaoke is the music being a re-recording of the songs because the original copies minus the voices can't be used for whatever the reason is.
