When Everyone Agreed About Iraq

For years before the war, a bipartisan consensus thought Saddam possessed chemical and biological weapons.

They never thought he had nuclear weapons.

Only ONE person made the decision to invade Iraq.........that was Bush

His blunder was one of the worst decisions in history

^ false.

The President could not make that "decision" without authority.

Thus, those who were in a position to grant such authority and who DID grant such authority are unable (despite frenetic efforts by the usual suspect liberals) to evade their own responsibility.

As spin efforts go, that one by rightwinger is typical of the lefties. It is an abject fail.

.

Yes, as we know, Congress forced George to send the troops. He sure didn't wanna, you betcha.

.

^ misses the point as usual or is just flailing to evade responsibility again. Typical of his sordid petty ilk.

President Bush sought the authority. But he could not make the decision unilaterally.

Since he had to have authority, had the folks in Congress declined his request, he could not have made the move.

So, President Bush has to accept responsibility; and he always has.

Congress, particularly the spineless dishonest wimpy liberal Democrats cannot find their nadz long eough to accept their own responsibility.

Hey, so how's it going?

Have you convinced yourself Iraq was a good idea yet?

Goodness knows, you've posted about a zillion times so far on it, you've been trying terribly hard.

"A" for effort!

No they did not grant the authority, they put conditions on the use of the military.

They only authorized military action in the event Hussein posed a threat to our national security and there's no way you can argue a country with barely any running water or electricity, 9000 miles away with no navy, is a threat to our national security.

You're such an idiot!

When Everyone Agreed About Iraq
No such time ever existed....except in Rupert Murdoch's imagination.

The Murdoch Street Journal....as a reference....REALLY??

It's time you "conservatives" get a grip....and, EMBRACE the fact you totally fucked-up....following Chickenhawks into a War (they'd been pursuing since the early-'90s).

:eusa_hand:

Libs seem to want to make people believe that Bush under the cover of darkness while everyone was sleeping got all the troops in a plane and flew them to Iraq and flew back to the WH.
No. Actually, we have....

...The FACTS on our side.

"In his speech today, President Bush claimed that members of Congress who voted for the 2002 Iraq war resolution “had access to the same intelligence” as his administration. This is patently false."

You'd expect....by NOW....that Teabaggers/"conservatives" would have (finally) gotten-over their masochistic-tendencies....after MORE-than-their-share of ass-kickin's!!!

It must be that Judeo-Christian martyr-trip that's driving them, now.... :eusa_think:

Anyone with common sense would've thought Iraq had WMD's. I did. And supported Bush in the war.

147 Democrats in Congress voted against the Iraq war authorization. Did they know something 'everyone' else didn't,

or did they just get lucky? Because they were right, and Bush, who made the final decision, was wrong.

The final decision was right. 12 years was more than enough time for Saddam to get his shit in order. He didn't.

We had him "contained", just like we did The Soviet Union...and, IT collapsed!!

It was much-more simple, than that.

After spending a majority of his Life as a failed-businessman....COUPLED with his reputation as a CHICKENHAWK....Lil' Dumbya was bound-and-determined to repair his reputation....and, be known as a SUCCESSFUL WAR-TIME PRESIDENT!!!!!

Yeah.....how surprising he fucked-THAT-up, as well.....

Wrong. They absolutely granted authority.

Shit, you idiot. It's even in the name of the resolution they passed to GIVE the President the authority.

It is a shame you can't even figure out the meaning of words from the words themselves.

But this is what we expect from the severely brain damaged schmucks like you.

"Everyone" did not agree with the invasion.

DAMNED right, Army Cowboy.

Senator Byrd was NOT fooled. Most of his DEM chums apparently lack the BALLS to stand up to the propaganda.

I will never forgive people like HILLARY CLINTON for voting for and speaking FOR the invasion.

Read the resolution spermball, it wasn't a blank check.

Nobody said it was a blank check, you diseased genetic defect.

But it was authority.

And if Congress chose not to impose tests on whatever "limits" they imagined they were installing into the authorization, that's just another bit of blame to be borne by the liberal Democrats who approved the Resolution.

Wriggle all you want. You cannot evade the fact that they bear responsibility, too.
