It is more the farming/ranching in the desert that is the problem in California, but the residents are too sheepish to stand up for themselves against big agriculture's interests.


When you have to import your water it ends badly.

The poor colorado river - and native wild fish stocks.

there is not much farming done in the California deserts.....
 
NWS is reporting 3 to 5 feet of rain since Oct 1st on the North Coast ... so call it 6 to 10 feet for the season ... yeah, a little on the dry side, but not really a "drought" in the normal sense ... no telling if they'll catch up, a couple of Pineapple Expresses and they'll be back on track for their 12 to 16 feet of annual rainfall ...
