Pepper spray is tear gas....

Pepper spray, as its name indicates, comes from an active compound in, wait for it, peppers, specifically chili peppers. It's called capsicin. Tear gas can one of many different chemicals including capsicin. It can also be CS gas or CN gas. The commercial product Mace can be either of the three.

The biggest difference is how it's delivered. Tear gas is quite often used for crowds and is delivered in canisters. Pepper spray is more widely used on an individual basis and in the form of a spray as the name indicates. The difference in the method of delivery is far greater than what the chemical is.

Okay....What am I to think of that? Mostly, at least for now, that the judge thinks Cantwell is a flight risk. That's usually why bail is denied.

Cantwell has stated he's been in jail before, so it's unlikely the guy is much of an "upstanding citizen." The guy's also got "a ton" of guns, so if he were to flee, he could be "challenging" to re-apprehend. Then there's the matter of his remarks about thinking a lot more people will die. With his guns and deeply seated hate, he's well positioned to make that happen were he released on bail, and that potentiality is also something the judge likely considered. Judges are not keen to release on bail individuals whose words and deeds give any hint that the person may be a threat to any law abiding member(s) -- specific or indeterminate -- of the community at large. Denying Cantwell bail doesn't seem all that unreasonable, flight risk or not.

I just read the difference from googling it.... tear gas is NOT pepper spray, tear gas is an artificial/synthetic chemical, and pepper spray is not....it does come from a concentrated ingredient in a/from a.... natural hot pepper.
