I have really lost my confidence in Ted Cruz due to his campaigns lies about Trey Gowdey switching from Rubio to Cruz, his mischaracterizations of Trump and his lies about Carson.

But I wonder who people think are the biggest liars running for the Presidency as a whole

First I clicked on all of the above, then realized you said Biggest Liars, and changed my vote

I chose Hillary, The Donald and Ted Cruz.

Yes, I am not a partisan hack.

In similar fashion, I would say the most honest are Ben Carson and Bernie Sanders.

Can you site examples?

I'm a HUGE Cruz supporter, and I don't believe he's been dishonest about anything. He took a news story about Carson and ran with it. It's hardball politics and while I like Carson, he's not ready for the office. Trump is not a reliable conservative. I've seen that with my own eyes. The Trey Gowdy thing I haven't heard of.

Ben Carson and Bernie Sanders do seem to have the same kind of basic honesty that Ron Paul did, but honesty isnt necessarily an asset in politics.

The Cruz campaign has been allowing false stories to circulate without denial, like the claim that Gowdy has swung over to Cruz, and is not disciplining the people who let the Carson lie percolate for hours after it had been denied/corrected by CNN.

But those were from his campaign. Cruz claiming that Trump is against the Second Amendment because he had supported some mild forms of new gun control that he now rejects is simply put a lie, a smear on Donald Trump. Cruz claiming that Trump is pro-abortion since he said that Planned Parenthood has some useful function is again simply a lie. Trump is not a fanatical ideologue on the issue, but that does not make him pro-abortion. Again, Cruz is lying on this matter.

I think integrity, character and honesty are essential traits for being POTUS and this needs to be considered a critical criteria for POTUS once again.

I chose Hillary, Bernie, then Jeb. Your poll seems to bear me out thus far.
At this moment the top three are Hillary, followed by Cruz, then Trump.

I dont trust Jeb! for many reasons, but I dont think he is basically a bald faced liar. HE spins. He makes a pretense of being offended, but I think he knows better than to make an outright lie. And I think Sanders has been very honest about his views on socialism for decades now; I dont see how that is specific evidence of him being a liar at all, quite the opposite.

So far no one has claimed that Ben Carson is a liar and it is interesting to note that he is trailing everyone in all the polls.

This is not a good sign for our Republic.

Like I said, the Carson issue isn't that big a deal to me. It was an angle his staff ran with thanks to journalistic malpractice on Al-CNN's part. Carson is a good man, but there's little chance of him winning. Trey Gowdy doesn't impress me, I'm not sure all of what happened there but it matters little to me. Trump has taken both sides of a lot of issues. People can change their minds, but what if he decides he's changed his mind again and gets another AWB passed? I don't have a lot of faith in his principles.

I have full confidence that Cruz will continue to do what he promised to do and fight the democrooks, as well as the RINOs. He has done so at the expense of his own prestige in the senate. He isn't there to make friends, and I don't want a political whore that will make friends with corrupt elitist pigs.

So your opinion of the men targeted by the lies makes the lies not reflective of the candidate who gained by them?

Trump has taken both sides of a lot of issues. People can change their minds, but what if he decides he's changed his mind again and gets another AWB passed? I don't have a lot of faith in his principles.

You have every right to doubt Trump and I dont think it is unreasonable to do so. Trump strikes me as being honest when he admits to having different thoughts on various issues, but so much of it was on record, maybe that was his best play anyway? But I dont find him lying to cover up his past beliefs.

The question is whether he validly had a change of heart. Romney swung 180 degrees in one year just before he decided to run for President, and almost all of the GOP decided he deserved the benefit of the doubt, so why not Trump?

I dont doubt Cruz' ideological loyalty. I doubt his loyalty to telling the Truth, and to me that trumps loyalty to an ideology.

It all seems kind of an essoteric issue now anyway. So close to the SC primary and Trump with over a 20% lead still? Things seem fated for Trump at this date.

ALL politicians spin. Like lawyers and advertisers, they are advocates (in the case of pols, for themselves only).

Trump wins hands down as I see it. He retweets stuff with any reality check. Donald Trump implied he had met Russian President Vladimir Putin in the course of taping an episode of CBS’ “60 Minutes” in which they were both interviewed — but the two men were interviewed separately, in different countries. He claims to have seen a NJ celebration of 911 that no one else can confirm and never admits he may have been wrong. Someone who can't admit he's wrong is dangerous.

Cruz plays hardball and sometimes the facts become the casualties. Hillary has plenty of record that requires spinning, especially if she feels she has to veer left to beat Sanders. But even Carson has spun his childhood with questionable stories.

When it comes to politicians it is buyer beware. The onus is on us to keep them honest and we do a lousy job of it.

One must dig deeper for an answer. We have:
Two Cubans
An alcoholic dyke
ANOTHER reverend ( no slick hair yet)
A meathead ( Aleister Crowleys grandson)
A combless Jew
Some dork name Kasich ( sounds like a genital rash)
And somebody whos first name is apparently "The" who refers to himself as .......himself.

All this to replace a Kenyan who's only political expertise was as the only 1/2 black in a group called Choom.

It's what makes merikka #1 ! The blessings are flooding the place !

So you seem to be arguing from equivalence; do you think Ben Carson is as much a liar as Hillary Clinton is?

Here is an article on Trumps meeting with Putin when Putin was in New York to speak at the UN and engage in some dealings with American media.

Donald Trump Will Likely Meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in New York City This Month
There's a "better than likely" chance that Donald Trump will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin when he comes to the United States later this month, according to his executive vice president and special counsel Michael Cohen.

Cohen said during an interview on radio program The Sean Hannity Show that the meet-up will occur while Putin is in New York City for the 70th General Assembly of the United Nations on Sept. 27.

But I dont think Trump was wrong.

Whether Carson was spinning anything is unproven. That is not the same thing as a blatant lie.

We certainly agree on that, but who is a politician in your book?

That's a tough assignment picking the biggest liars from a group that size of professional liars. Truly it's tough for a politician to survive these days without being the consummate liar. Much of the blame for that falls on their need to raise unprecedented amounts of money to be a viable candidate. They have to be able to tell Mega Donors how protective of their privileges they'll be (in coded language of course, except for toxic slips like Romney's when he dissed 47% of America) And then they have to lie to the electorate about how they'll stand up to the controlling bankster elite, Wall St., etc. I've got to run so for now I'll take the easier route, the more honest of the bunch. #1 I believe would have to be Bernie for reasons I'll explain later. And then there's Trump, unconstrained by a need to appeal to the establishment. It hurts to pick him but in my rush he's got to be my fallback for now, I'm sure I'll hear how I'm 100% wrong.

Carson has done much less than Hillary so he has less that needs to be spun. In absolute numbers Hillary is far ahead, percentage-wise, not so much.

All you sources are on a planned meeting that never seems to have taken place. What he said was: “I got to know him very well because we were both on ’60 Minutes,’ we were stablemates, and we did very well that night” The two did appear on the same “60 Minutes” episode, which aired on Sept. 27. But journalist Charlie Rose traveled to Moscow for the two-hour interview with Putin, and Trump was interviewed by Scott Pelley in Trump’s Fifth Avenue penthouse in Manhattan. Trump vs. Fiorina: Who Knows Putin Best?

They are all politicians. I put Trump in the same category: he's running for political office so caveat emptor. Personally I never believe what one says about another. I don't even care much what they've done in the past. I only care about what they'll do in the future should they win. What Hillary proposes is closest to what I'd like to see. I have no clue what Trump will do, only that he can't do what he has promised.

There ain't a time in modern political history when (liberals?) would ever bring up the word "liars". What's going on in the democrat party when they are stuck with an old commie and the obvious lies and political posturing of the other democrat candidate? Blame it on republicans?
