Who here "thinks" that China will blink first in the trade wars?

As U.S. and China trade tariff barbs, others scoop up U.S. soybeans

The USDA said 458,000 tonnes of U.S. soybeans were sold to undisclosed destinations, which traders and grains analysts said included EU soybean processors such as the Netherlands and Germany.

If the entire volume is confirmed to be going to the European Union, it would be the largest one-off sale to the bloc in more than 15 years, according to USDA data. The USDA could not immediately be reached for comment.

“We’re seeing a realignment of trade,” largely because the politics is driving up Brazilian soybean prices, said Jack Scoville, analyst with the Price Futures Group.

Traders and analysts said the unusual trade flows were likely to continue in the near term, benefiting U.S. Gulf Coast shippers and likely hurting exporters in the U.S. Pacific Northwest, the No. 2 bulk grain outlet that relies heavily on Chinese demand.

Trump already rubbed Chinese noses in soybeans. Our soybean farmers will make more than ever.

You are so stupid it is almost scary you are allowed to vote.

If there was another market out there on a steady basis that would pay more, do you not think that our farmers would not have already been taking advantage of it?

This year for only the third time ever, more soybeans are planned to be planted than corn, meaning there will be more soybean than every to try and sell. Are you aware what happens when there is a surplus of supply and a shortage of buyers?

And the extended winter is going to make it even worse as people will end up planting beans where they were going to plant corn if they cannot get the corn in the ground soon.
Sorry for your ignorance but Europe is already buying our soybeans.

Your hope for the failure of our farmers is dashed from the beginning.

Yes they are, so who is going to pick up the market that is China since Europe already is? Do you think that if Europe was better market we would not have already replaced China with them? Do you think at all? Do you even have a brain or was it replaced by Trump's ass?

Soy beans are sold on a world market, with the price pretty much determined by supply and demand. If other soy bean producers decide to sell to China and not their other customers, then those customers have to find another supplier. The same amount of soy beans will be sold, as there is a market for soy beans. Only the actors change.
Only the actors change.

And the price, of course.

They need the food a hell of lot more than we do................And our citizens can absorb higher prices than their citizens can...........Our did their wages just go through the roof over there.

Moron.....From the O/P I stated that countries such as Brazil and Argentina produce even MORE soybeans than we do.....What is stopping China from trading with those 2 countries???
Brazil prices are going up and are ready to trade as well................As the other poster said countries will just shift on who they buy from.

China is the largest importer of soybeans in the world. The US is their largest supplier at about 1/3 of their demand. If that market share is ceded to another country, it will never be recovered. Whatever market share is recovered will likely be done so at a lower pricepoint.

How is that "winning" over China?

Jesus you are stupid.

What do you think they are going to magically change the land to, tomatoes or green beans?

Grain farmer grow grain. They do not magically decided in April to become watermelon farmers.

If they plan on planting Soybeans it means they have already bought the seeds, if they do not use them they lose money and have to buy other seeds.

If they are planning on planting soybeans it means they have not prepared the land with nitrates and other Ferts necessary for corn or other grains.

If the weather does not change soon they will not even have the option to plant corn, so they will use the seeds they have.

Really retard? Farmers switch from corn to soybeans on a regular basis. They also do wheat frequently. Sunflowers are an option too.

They switch based on price, dope. Obviously if they were planning on soybeans then that was their best margin. Switching means a loss of revenue.

The 30-seconds' ads by democrat candidates in these red states will be fairly easy to put together in the next 7 months......The warehouses filled with commodities that China refuses to buy from us, will tell a very sad story of Trump's abject stupidity in trade affairs.
They'll be tiny compared to the warehouses filled with Chinese goods, not shipped to the US. China is more than blinking right now. Just imagine your local Walmart 80% empty of stock. That might give you some idea what's going on here.

This is not about soybeans.

The Chinese can use their cash for any number of things if they don't want US notes. They can buy companies and real estate anywhere in the world. If they set up companies in Mexico and Canada they could flood the US so long as NAFTA existed. They have money and no internal restrictions on how they use it. They are very dangerous.
The Chinese can do what we allow them to do - nothing more. The open door presidents are gone.

We are NOT talking about stopping those cheap Chinese goods coming to the U.S.

We are talking about China stopping U.S. commodities going there since they have other options/countries to import to China.
No, we ARE talking about stopping those cheap Chinese goods coming to the U.S. That's what the tariffs are for. This whole thread is backwards. All you're talking about is a FEW US exporters. The real issue here is thousands of US businesses now in China, no longer finding it economical to be there, and deciding to move back to the US (as some already have done), and resuming operations HERE.

That is what tens of millions of Americans put Donald Trump into the White House for. Bringing the businesses back here (making America great again), and he's doing it. (in the midst of all this yammering about soybeans)

It's just one example of the negative effects.

Great. Where do US consumers now get those goods?

AND I believe Chinese can endure much more pain than those dummies did ,under the 8 good years of Obama

As stated several times on this thread, China's "pain" over Trump's tariffs imposed on exports from the U.S. is easily mitigated by....

a. A need for soybeans?.........Brazil and Argentina will readily fill the need
b. A need of corn for China's livestock?........Canada will readily fill the need
c. A need of jumbo aircraft?..............France's AirBus will readily fill that need

You're STILL not getting it................
China will always sell cheap goods to Walmart et al....The difference is that with trump's tariff on those cheap goods, prices will be HIGHER for U.S. consumers.

Nitwit..........are you really THAT dumb?

U.S. businesses moving back to the states will face MUCH HIGHER labor costs which translate into U.S. consumers having to pay 4 times more for that cheap children's plastic toy........
See the difference??? (probably not).....have another swig of kool aid.

Looks like the USDA is also worried about the effect this will have on our commodities like soy and corn.

Saturday Sonny said he was instructed by Trump to not let the farmers be the “causalities” in the trade “dispute”.

The rumor is they will try to use the CCC to offset the losses by the farmers. But it does not have enough money to cover the projected losses

I'm sick of this thread. Gone on too long for something that shouldn't have lasted 2 pages. We have the very BIG market. China uses it, and floods our stores with her goods. That's how she has much more to lose. That's who loses a trade war. Simple as that.

Like your Dear Leader- no patience for the facts or the details.

They have 1.3 Billion people.............those people need to eat....................the DEMAND IS STILL THERE.................their people make very little money..........they can't afford those increased prices.....................or shortages........................

It is still gonna hurt them more than us.

Stop their BS.................and this wouldn't be necessary..........sorry............you like them getting away with it............must make a living on the Markets and Speculation.

Beagle insists on being labeled an idiot......

NO ONE stated anything about the Chinese people "starving"......The soybeans that they were purchasing from some Trump cultist in Iowa, will now be bought from Brazil.....

The corn that the Chinese fed to their cattle that was once bought from some other Trump cultist in Nebraska, will now be bought from Canada.

Are all you Trump cultists THIS dumb?

(Besides........Trump will NOT carry through on his BS about tariffs; as usual, he'll flip-flop and be cheered by his mindless, cult members.)
