It's really impossible to know the answer to the title of this thread, and I dont know if my choice for most physically fit American is exactly that, but I do suggest that one would have a hard time finding anyone better deserving of this title than my choice >> Dick Van Dyke.
The last time I saw Dick Van Dyke on TV, he was participating in a paid program for the exercise routine, Tai Chi. During this broadcast, we got to see a short video of Dick at home. What I'll never forget was the sight of him jogging UP a flight of stairs (at age 97).
Dick, who will be 98 in 2 months, is about the same age as ex-president Jimmy Carter. While Carter looks like he died 2 weeks ago, and nobody had the heart to tell him, Dick Van Dyke looks like a college boy, who's in better shape than most of his classmates.
Here's a short video of Dick at age 93, jumping up on a table and dancing on it.
