When did Republicans ever have anything to do with what colleges charge? Outside of community colleges they are private entities. Government has no control over what they charge.

Colleges are the product of supply and demand, just like any product we buy. The more supply and less demand, the lower the prices go. The more demand and less supply, the higher the prices go. In the past 20 years or so, more and more high school students have enrolled in college.
