My guess would be that businesses in richer areas get more traffic and make more sales enabling the business owners to lower prices to be more competitive. But I’m sure it’s a case by case situation

Loss due to theft and vandalism in the poor areas of democrat controlled cities.....these small and medium grocers lose a lot of inventory to theft...and have to make up for that loss with higher prices.
