For many of the same legitimate reasons that all of America was obsessed with the missing Nixon tapes. There was potential criminality. There was lying. There was taking Americans for fools and talking down to them. There was key missing information that was deliberately kept hidden then destroyed. And at the center of it all, there was a heightened public need-to-know of just what she was hiding.
