But go to the USA in every major city especially the inner cities… you got a Kentucky fried chicken and McDonald’s on every street corner

According to data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, more than 2 in 5 adults are obese, and nearly 1 in 5 children are obese. Furthermore, 19 states in America have obesity rates over 35 percent, increased from 16 states just last year. A decade ago, no states had obesity rates above 35 percent! Obesity is linked to a number of health ailments, including diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and a number of cancers such as breast and colorectal. If that wasn’t enough, the annual medical cost of obesity was nearly 173 billion dollars in 2019 alone.

Good cause OP.

Where do you think is the best place to start?

It starts With the American youth brother. We should have government funded programs to educate youngsters about eating healthy. But of course in addition to that educate them about the dangers of recreational drugs. ..,educate the youth about believing in a healthy society, and helping poor people.

In our schools we should not have youngsters have access to high sugary foods. If you have a situation where a 12-year-old can go to a vending machine and put money into it they get from their parents to buy Oreo cookies…well that is really insane if we think about it.

Kids easily get addicted to sugar that has to say process sugar which is very unhealthy and addictive.

Things like Oreo cookies or chips ahoy. Or Pepsi or Coca-Cola can be found at schools across America. And so they should be replaced by fresh juice and nutritionist food like apples. People feel better about themselves when they eat healthy.

Eating healthy contributes to a strong mentality and a better physical body. Eating garbage food like McDonald’s or Burger King or Kentucky fried chicken contributes to a sluggish and lazy personality.

so the kid eats a healthy snack in school and comes home to Burger King and whatever goodies afterwards and then gets up to a bowl of sugar....yea that snack will help...

America isn't concerned about any of that. America's concern is monopoly business practice, and shareholder return.

Of course the local and state politicians get their cut, so that helps.

Taxpayer dollar should be not pumped into foreign countries for their own wars. But into the United States to shape a strong and healthy society. It is necessary to have government fund the programs, especially at the inner cities where many kids have parents who are crackheads or who are in prison.

That ain’t right. There’s some kid in the city of Chicago or Baltimore who doesn’t have a parent at home while some rich parents are giving their kids money…. So that’s a moral government. We could even say a Christian society step up and says we’re going to do something about a child who is living in poverty because he is an American citizen.

Yes

And the government should check companies, who manufacture high sugary foods who are advertising to children. That is tactic of course of the big cookie companies. They are advertising to children. Because they know if they get them addicted at a young age, they will just keep eating that garbage food for the rest of their life. This is similar to the cigarette companies.

When you’re talking about adults OK that’s one thing. But when we talk about a 10-year-old boy in the city of Chicago, who has all sorts of negative influences from the media from Hollywood and now he turns on the television and see some cartoon about how delicious Oreo cookies are, something like the little Debbie snacks you name it. But that ain’t right.

And furthermore go to the grocery store take a look at the price of protein bars compared to candy bars. Candy bars cost less money. Take a look at the price of a fresh apple compared to some frozen TV dinner you’re going to spend more money on fresh vegetables and fresh food compared to some TV dinner packed with sodium.

Keep Merica fat and stupid .
That will speed - up it slipping beneath the waves, which would help return Planet Earth to its wholesome , neat and tidy former existence .

The sooner Merica is being run by fit , slim and good looking people, the better .
Make it a place you might want to visit .

The same gubmint schools which taught us all about the carb-heavy "food pyramid", that helped cause the obesity?

The HFC and seed oils are everywhere....Greatly supported by corporate farming subsidies...There's "free" money in all that fat...You really think that the same gubmint that caused all this is going to get us out of it?

Start lecturing people about them being a bunch of fat slobs and they get offended. We knew early on into Covid. That obesity was a major factor in deaths, yet at no point during the pandemic did you hear the CDC or the government tell people to eat better and lose weight.

Do Cambodians have a sweet tooth? Do they love soda, ice cream, cakes, etc.?

I think I know the answer.

Why should they talk about it? Obesity is a personal choice.

I don’t expect government to solve every problem

MAYBE it’s because there are more pressing issues; Illegal Immigration, No Bail , Sanctuary Cities, the economy, Boys being allowed in girls locker rooms and sports teams, etc etc
EXACTLY do you want the Government to do about it? In this day and ago Nutritional info is on all products. Do you have to be a genius to know to stay away from sweets, fried foods, learn portion control, etc etc?
