Here's an exchange from Bernie Sanders's appearance on "Meet the Press" on Sunday:

CHUCK TODD: Are you a capitalist? @BernieSanders: No. I'm a Democratic Socialist.

And, in those five words, Sanders showed why — no matter how much energy there is for him on the liberal left — he isn't getting elected president.

Why? Because Democrat or Republican (or independent), capitalism remains a pretty popular concept — especially when compared to socialism. A 2011 Pew Research Center survey showed that 50 percent of people had a favorable view of capitalism, while 40 percent had an unfavorable one. Of socialism, just three in 10 had a positive opinion, while 61 percent saw it in a negative light.

Simply because corporations don't owned him....

He won't have the big corporate donors!

Also democratic socialist = hybrid capitalist/socialist. Which pretty much means the government regulates and makes sure the capitalist don't shit all over the rest of society.

So either corporations own him or he owns corporations.

I don't understand the distinction. Is Bernie a better CEO?

I don't want to burst his bubble, especially considering his age and all, but I dare say he would not make a very good CEO.

Come to think of it, being President seems to make you an expert on pretty much everything. All of a sudden you know how to run a world economy, you are an expert on forieng policy, and you obtain a PhD is science over night.

SItting in the Oval Office must be like staying at a Holiday Inn Express. Just look how it qualified a lawyer/community organizer to be President.

Capitists don't shit all over the place, government does.

Democratic socialist does not mean hybrid capitalist socialist. That is nonsensical.

In other words, if he does nothing else than alert people about how Wall Street controls Capital Hill, that's fine by me.

I would not be so sure.

Those in Congress have had an approval rating of only around 10% every year, yet about 90% keep getting elected anyway.

I think Progs have this down to a science. They no longer need our consent to win elections.

The Nazi party were Democratic socialists. Hitler once said, "Why nationalize corporations whey you can nationalize the people?"

The genius of Hitler was that he understood that those in the corporate world had a better grasp on running those corporations than he did. All Hitler needed to do was to find a way to pull their strings when needed.

The US inches closer to this type of Nazi economy every day.
