Why did Mueller take the special counsel job in the first place?

Who doesn't want a few extra million in their pocket, especially when they're about to retire.
Possible, but I doubt it. As long as Mueller served at the highest level in D.C., he must have had more money than he could ever spend. This job had "danger" written all over it.

I think he was coerced.

You're suggesting someone could have too much money? The alternative could be Mueller wanted some sort of legacy.

You mean he wanted to be the one who took down TRUMP?

Hmmm, after this last Thursdays get together, it seems Mueller may not know who Trump is.

Nobody else seems to be asking this question.

It's obvious he was just a figurehead, putting his name on a report that he didn't even read just to give it credibility. Mueller had a long distinguished career behind him.

My guess is the Dems dug up some dirt on him or a member of his family and forced him to do their bidding.

Follow the money!

. Let’s take a peek into Mueller's motivation:

. ….."Russian Collusion"….Hillary's tale, picked up by her colleagues in the sale of American uranium to Russia for $ millions in bribes…er, 'donations.'

…..Mueller, Comey and Rosenstein were all government officials when Hillary received the $145 million bribe for the sale of our uranium.

....Robert Mueller was the FBI Director during the time of the Russian uranium probe, and so was his successor James Comey who took over in 2013 as the FBI was still developing the case. Rod Rosenstein, then-U.S. Attorney....

The reason for the Mueller Investigation?
....to camouflage the fact that every major Democrat elite was both knowledgeable and a participant in the corruption of the uranium deal: Muller, Comey and Rosenstein knew and probably wet their beaks in the payoffs.

They took what didn't belong to them....sold the purloined property of the American people.....and now need to hide the dirty deed.

The fact is that Shep Smith has thoroughly destroyed the myth that is Uranium One. It is nothing but a lie spread by Trump garbage. Uranium One was a private company and it was not the property of the American people.

Let's check:

He’s the uranium dealer who bought the Clintons and used their influence to make a killing in the uranium mine industry.

“This comes from the Kazakh head of their atomic agency saying that Senator Clinton refused to meet with Kazakh officials unless and until they granted uranium concessions to Frank Giustra, who ended up giving more than $100 million to the Clinton Foundation,” Schweizer said on Thursday.

Republican critics of Clinton have tried to tie the Uranium One deal, in which the U.S. ceded 20 percent of its uranium assets to Russia, to $145 million in donations that stakeholders in the Russian company made to the Clinton Foundation prior to the deal.

Clinton at the time was secretary of state in the Obama administration…and represented the State Department on the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) that approved the 2010 deal. Only the president had the power to suspend or stop the deal.” Clinton extorted nuclear officials in the uranium deal, a Breitbart editor says on Fox News

Selling out America and its strategic asset, uranium?

Would the Clintons do that????

You betcha’!!!!

The Gateway Pundit. Enough said.

The President would make the decision only if the deal was disapproved by the Committee. All it took was one vote to disapprove of the sale. The Russians needed to bribe ALL the members of the committee. Where is that special counsel? As Sessions pointed out, you need facts to initiate a investigation. Schweizer is a political hack.

Hmmm.....everyone who states fact not consistent with your indoctrination is not acceptable?

Typical Liberal.

While Hillary Clinton sat on the Senate Armed Services Committee she pressured Kazakhstan to build up Frank Giustra’s uranium company, Uranium One.

Then, as Sec’y of State, presiding over The Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) she suddenly reversed her previous opposition to the Russian State Nuclear Agency controlling 20% of the uranium extraction in the United States.

“Clinton’s CFIUS committee approved a Russian takeover of US uranium assets at the same time that the Russian company’s chairman was giving substantial sums of money to Clinton’s foundation. There is no evidence that Clinton ever divulged this blatant, if not potentially corrupt, conflict of interest.”
Jarrett, “The Russia Hoax,” p. 70-71

“… the sale gave the Russians control of one-fifth of all uranium production capacity in the United States. Since uranium is considered a strategic asset, with implications for national security, the deal had to be approved by a committee composed of representatives from a number of United States government agencies. Among the agencies that eventually signed off was the State Department, then headed by Mr. Clinton’s wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton.

…Pravda trumpeted President Vladimir V. Putin’s latest coup: “Russian Nuclear Energy Conquers the World.”” Cash Flowed to Clinton Foundation Amid Russian Uranium Deal

“…the failure of the Clinton’s to publicly reveal the contributions as promised in their agreement with the Obama White House raises logical and legitimate concerns that they sought to conceal activities….”
Jarrett, “The Russia Hoax,” p. 73

He would hardly be called a unbiased witness. That article is from Nov 2017. Almost 2 years ago. As Sessions pointed out, you need facts to start a investigation. Clearly they do not have any facts to back it up.

Mueller has been part of the "deep state" for decades. As such, the election of Donald Trump was an unthinkable catastrophe. TDS then caused him to believe that Trump must be a Russian spy who needed to be exposed.

After months of investigation revealed nothing to support this, he had to save face (and protect himself) by creating an obstruction of justice scenario in order to extend his investigation past the 2018 elections. Like John McCain, Mueller let his personal animosity of Trump destroy his own reputation.

You are the one who suffers from TDS. It makes you say stupid things to defend Trump. I suspect t voters find Mueller far more trustworthy than Trump.

Mueller defended Trump.

1.Mueller: Investigation was “not at any time curtailed, stopped, or hindered”
Robert Mueller under questioning by Republican Doug Collins admitted that the investigation was not actually obstructed:

Mueller: Investigation was "not at any time curtailed, stopped, or hindered"

Don't you know anything?

Don't you know anything? This is what he said.

- Trump "welcomed and encouraged" Russian interference, and lied about it to cover it up

- Trump instructed McGahn to create a false record of his order to fire Mueller

- Trump didn't answer his questions truthfully

Mueller: Investigation was “not at any time curtailed, stopped, or hindered”
Robert Mueller under questioning by Republican Doug Collins admitted that the investigation was not actually obstructed:

Now....what was the conclusion of the Mueller Report??????

Any collusion?

Any obstruction?

Speak up, dunce.

As Mueller pointed out, a sitting President cannot be indicted. He gave several instances of potential obstruction.

Mueller confirmed that Manafort gave internal polling data and campaign strategy to a Russian the FBI has linked to Russian Intelligence. He was not able to find out what was done with that since Russian Intelligence cannot be subpoenaed.

1. She's not ever gonna be President

2. She has a life-long history of corruption

3. Every word out of her mouth is a lie....."On a first-lady goodwill tour of Asia in April 1995—the kind of banal trip that she now claims as part of her foreign-policy "experience"—Mrs. Clinton had been in Nepal and been briefly introduced to the late Sir Edmund Hillary, conqueror of Mount Everest. Ever ready to milk the moment, she announced that her mother had actually named her for this famous and intrepid explorer. The claim "worked" well enough to be repeated at other stops and even showed up in Bill Clinton's memoirs almost a decade later, as one more instance of the gutsy tradition that undergirds the junior senator from New York.

Clinton was born in 1947, and Sir Edmund Hillary and his partner Tenzing Norgay did not ascend Mount Everest until 1953, so the story was self-evidently untrue and eventually yielded to fact-checking.

4. The money-grubbing trash would sell out America in a hot New York second......and she did.

5. Now....get her shoe-polish off your tongue.

"As Mueller pointed out, a sitting President cannot be indicted. He gave several instances of potential obstruction."

He did no such thing.

He tried to lie, and first claimed he used the OLC decison.....but went back and admitted that had nothing to do with the facts: there was no basis to find Trump guilty in any way.

Mueller lied about the OLC....originally claiming that it played no role, then saying it did, at the hearings, then 'clarifying'....it did not.

“Former special counsel Robert Mueller testified Wednesday that he did not indict President Donald Trump on obstruction of justice charges because of Department of Justice guidelines barring a sitting president from being indicted — but later clarified his remarks.

The confusion came amid questioning from Democratic Rep. Ted Lieu of California during Mueller's testimony to the House Judiciary Committee.

The former FBI director had said in his report he never reached a decision on whether Trump could or should be charged with obstruction because of the OLC guidance.

In Mueller's opening statement that came later before the House Intelligence Committee, the former special counsel said he wanted to "correct the record" on his exchange with Lieu.

"Was there sufficient evidence to convict President Trump or anyone else with obstruction of justice?" Buck asked.

"We did not make that calculation," Mueller said, citing the OLC opinion.

"That's not the correct way to say it," Mueller said. "We did not reach a determination as to whether the president committed a crime."

That statement was more in line with his report, and with his earlier opening statement to the Judiciary Committee, where he said, "Based on Justice Department policy and principles of fairness, we decided we would not make a determination as to whether the President committed a crime. That was our decision then and it remains our decision today."

In early May, Attorney General William Barr testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee that Mueller "reiterated several times in a group meeting that he was not saying that but for the OLC opinion he would have found obstruction." Mueller clarifies comments on whether he could indict Trump

You really don't know anything, except the lies the Left feeds you, huh?

Mueller was clueless! Mumbles..

Didn’t know what was in the report

That means Andrew Weissmann needs to answer some questions from jail... because that’s where he’s going.

Trump is the likeliest person to go to jail. As Mueller pointed out, Trump can be prosecuted after he is defeated in 2020.
The obstruction of justice charged was given to us by someone that went Hillary Clinton’s party lol hahha

I will honestly pay to see the judges reaction to democrats putting obstruction of justice charges in front of him

Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy.

Mueller took the job because he is part of the Swamp Vermin Cabal who attempted the coup attempt against Trump in order to cover up their corrupt and illegal behavior.

Nobody else seems to be asking this question.

Massive payday. He got to sit on his ass and let the DNC run the investigation and collect a huge check. It was pretty obvious during the hearing he had no idea WTF was going on.
