Dont you worry bout cars none...they are fixing that. The actuarial models are already in work for the insurance too!

"The Stages of Autonomous Vehicle Adoption

If we look at autonomous vehicle adoption as a spectrum – with zero representing a universe consisting exclusively of traditional vehicles and five representing a world of fully autonomous vehicles – we are somewhere between zero and one right now. Automakers are currently moving aggressively to Stage 1, which is the adaptation of some autonomous features.

At Stage 2, at least two features (such as braking and cruise control) will be automated, and at Stage 3 the car will be partially autonomous, although a driver will still be needed for monitoring.

We consider Stage 4 as vehicles having full autonomy, with a “human option” for the driver/passenger to take over at any time. And Stage 5 would be full autonomy, with no human option – meaning no steering wheel, brakes, or accelerator pedals.

We believe the transition through the stages will be gradual, and insurers will have some time to adjust and react. But our forecast says that by about 2050, there will be many more autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicles on the road than traditional vehicles."

Driverless Cars Will Change Auto Insurance. Here’s How Insurers Can Adapt

What happens when you are the only conventional driver on the road? YOU get to pay the most for insurance.

Bump Stocks

Without getting into the technical details, they are devices designed to let shooters fire semiautomatic rifles, which are generally legal to own, as though they were automatic rifles — machine guns — which generally are not legal to own. In other words, the bump stock, trigger crank and similar pieces of equipment dodge federal gun laws intended to keep most people from getting their hands on guns that fire bullets continuously and rapidly with a single pull of the trigger.

The gun industry's drive to circumvent gun laws helped make the Las Vegas massacre worse

It simulates automatic fire. It doesnt dodge anything. It makes semi autos fire faster. You can use a belt or rubber band and do the same thing.
They were OKd by the ATF because simulating automatic fire isnt illegal.
You need the "technical details" when discussing it because that is what distinguishes it from ignorant rhetoric. The law is a technicality..

I can duplicate the firing rate by hooking my thumb in a belt loop and applying forward pressure to my semiautomatic long gun. It is so easy to turn any 'adjustable sliding stock' AR / long gun into a bump stock with a few minutes of fabrication and a spring or piece of rubber.... lol on the "ban"...

For quite a while now I've favored limiting speedometers to 100 mph. Not sure if rental car companies put governors on their car's engine, I would if I had little control over who was driving my cars.

Of course. Liberals should demand that all cars have speed limiters and they should be set at 75.

When someone is killed by a car doing say 90 mph, why don't the families of the victims sue the car maker for selling a car DESIGNED TO BREAK THE LAW??. Answer is people do that but the auto company very quickly hands them a ton of money to drop the suit and thus avoid negative publicity for the industry. The industry does not want people to drive slower and thus safer. Car crashes means car sales.
