Why Is Mitt Romney So Incredibly Weird?

He seems incapable of natural conversation and frequently uncomfortable in his own skin.

Because he isn’t interested in what ‘common people’ have to say, typical of a corporate executive. He thinks he knows all the answers. It’s clear to see when his eyes glaze over while ‘talking’ to people.

Nope, you were the one going on about spelling errors. Either you, or TGG. Doesn't matter.

Romney is not evil, but you are.

You are the flip flopper going from candidate to candidate, knowing MR is going to knock your candidate out in November. We can laugh together about it then.

If you knew shit about me, instead of pretending to know shit about me, you'd know I don't spell police. I guess that's how you process when you're 50 but you act like you're 15.

Grow up, TGG. Accept responsibility for what you do here on the Board. And grow a thick skin. Just wait until some of the crazies go off on you. Really, loosen up.

I see a man who may not be comfortable with public speaking at times(.)

The Clip of Mitt trying to say Y'all was hillarious.

Yep he sure can identify with the common man.

But then neither can Obama either.

Nor can 90+% of congress.

The whole "who let the dogs out" thing was bizarre. It would be the same thing if Obama saw a bunch of white guys, walked over, and said, Pardon me, do you have any Grey Poupon?

Mitt Romney - Who Let the Dogs Out? - YouTube

Good god... I haven't seen that yet. That is cringe worthy. Is he getting his information about black people from a turn of the millennium video by the Mormon church?

Sure, a guy who grew up bi-racial, lived in Indonesia and a melting pot like Hawaii, a single parent household on food stamps, a scholarship kid. Yeah, what the heck does that kid know about the common man?

I want Romney to win, and some of you so-called allies are idiots if you think that or the dog thing or the get Osama thing is going to fly. You are insane.

Keep your unhappiness to yourself until Romney is elected.

In the meantime, let's work on issues that work: the friggin' economy, O friggin' K?

It seems to me that only someone who doesn't "understand anything else" would make such a statement.

When you say you think people should be beaten for crossing picket lines, or that fired workers should be allowed to use baseball bats on their ex-bosses with impunity, you're wishing violence upon others.

And it's despicable.

Just like being a bigot.

nope, it's taking care of your own...

You take something from me, expect to pay a nasty price for it.

Right. 'Cause the world owes you a living. It's not the owner's business. It's yours.

Everything you need to know about Willard Mitt Romney. An excerpt from Salon's new e-book, "The Rude Guide to Mitt"

The following is an excerpt from Alex Pareene’s new e-book for Salon, “The Rude Guide to Mitt.” It can be purchased at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and the Sony Reader Store.

Mitt Romney is weird. When the Obama reelection campaign early in the cycle made the mistake of indicating that its strategy would be to imply that Mitt Romney is weird by repeatedly telling Politico that it planned on calling Mitt Romney weird, Romney’s camp countered by causing a brief and not particularly sincere media brouhaha over whether “weird” is code for “Mormon.” Plenty of Americans think Mormons are weird, yes, but in this case, the simple fact is Mitt Romney is weird, entirely apart from his religion.

He seems incapable of natural conversation and frequently uncomfortable in his own skin. He’s simultaneously dorkily earnest and ingratiatingly insincere. He suggests a brilliantly designed politician android with an operating system still clearly in beta. He once tied a dog to the roof of his car and drove for hundreds of miles without stopping and some years later thought that was an endearing story. All video of him attempting to interact with normal humans is cringe-inducing, as a cursory YouTube search quickly demonstrates. (Martin Luther King Day, Jacksonville, Fla., 2008: Mitt poses for a picture with some cheerful young parade attendees. As he squeezes in to the otherwise all-black group, he says, apropros of nothing, “Who let the dogs out? Woof, woof!”) He seems to have been told that “small talk” is mostly made up of cheerfully delivered non sequiturs.

Your source alternet be assured I will give a far left sources opinion on Romney or any Republican the same amount of consideration you would give a far right sources opinion on Obama or any Democrat.

It does seem to be a pretty lousy source. I read only the first paragraph b/c it was boring and seemingly not sincere. Yes weird was code for Mormon. There is no other reason to be calling him weird. He's a pretty f'ing normal guy frankly otherwise. And the article attributed it to the Romney camp stating that weird was code for Mormon. To the best of my knowledge, the Romney camp never vocalized such a theory. The genesis comes from the media not in the tank for Obama.

Guy, look at the graph. Romney has run consistantly behind Obama by about 4 point on average for the last two years...

People don't like Romney. Republicans don't even really like him. And by and large, Americans don't vote for people they don't like personally.

This is a truism.

Polls only count on election day, if you are so confident of Obama and his record, why slam Romney for stupid crap.

I slam Romney because he's an evil scumbag....

You slam Romney because of bigotry and ignorance.

Romney is disliked by Republicans.

Name the last time Americans elected someone they really didn't like?

And this is before the Media starts carpet bombing him with "Mormons are Weird" and "Poor Ampad Worker" stories.

Obama, Bush, Clinton, Bush... need we go on?

Sounds like Obama and health care.

I'd call it a partnership. The place where you corporatists have really fucked it up is that you think that investment creates jobs. Nope. Consumer demand and labor create jobs. It's like you create this fucked up system where you get all the benefits and scream "Communist" if anyone points out the unfairness of it. And if they realize that your power is largely illusionary, you guys go into pant-shitting terror.

So you cleverly get the working schlubs to fight it out amongst themselves... until they finally figure it out and stop playing the game.

It happened once with the union movement of the last century, and America was never richer or more prosperous... trust you idiots to find ways to fuck it up.

People liked Obama and still like him personally. People liked Clinton. Man left with 69% approval rating. People even kind of like the Bushes..

People really don't like Mitt Romney. Not even Republicans. It's like a dog food that has the greatest marketting scheme ever, but the dogs won't eat it.

So reading comprehension isn't something they taught you at "Rip off Granny" School, is it?

It amazes me, another parasite trying convince me he's a vital organ when I scrap him off my arm..

He's not weird; that's just the next lib/dem code-word/talking point.

To me, Romney is very reminiscent of the Corporate CEOs that ran the divisions I worked at back in the sixties. They were noble, serious, dedicated, honest, extremely competent managers and people. They were also very democratic in that they recognized by face and spoke to all the people who worked in their factory divisions. He fits the pattern to a "T" and I for one find it reassuring regarding his capacity to perform.

The thing was, those guys back in the 1960's saw that the working folks in their divisions were their partners. They paid fair union wages and took input from the people they worked with.

Romney is the new breed. Employees are an unneeded expense, to be trimmed or downsized when profitable to do so. manipulating the stock market is important, not the well being. He's a Casino Capitalist, not an industrial Capitalist.

And the problem with Casinos is eventually, the House always wins.
