why is religion important?

I'm almost 70 and have never seen one good thing come from "religion".

What about Mother Teresa and her work for the poor in India?? ..

Religion does not cause "good" actions.

i don't know much about your society.

but in the place i live, believer muslim usually tries to be honest and helps poor and weak people. islam enforces muslims to have good ethics.
