I think it's mostly because Trump blames America for the war against Russia, and he plans on easing tensions in time to prevent a nuclear war.

Nothing ensures America's success against Russia, China, and the many other Brics countries and that's starting to play on the voters.
Also obviously at question is whether or not Russia or China has handed to Hezbollah, hypersonic missiles that could be used against two US aircraft carriers sitting well within range?
