why mental health checks for guns can't pass muster....

Don't need to, I live in north western South Dakota. I don't even know if I have a key to my home doors haven't locked them in years...

So you leave your house completely unlocked, windows down?

Same with your car and place of business, huh?
My house, sure.
My business I keep locked, obviously, mostly because of the liability reasons, I rarely lock my vehicle.

Why? Criminals will be criminals. Locks can be bypassed.

Why would you *ever* lock your vehicle if you believe what you do about criminals?
I travel a fair amount, and a byproduct of socialism is high rate of criminal behavior.

What relevance would that have? Since criminals will be criminals, what would be the point in locking any doors?

Um, ever?
I just use common sense, it's a commonsense thing you wouldn't understand

And of course that shows how stupid your point is. You put on locks to deter criminals who will be stopped by locks.....you carry a gun for the ones the locks won't stop.......and you shoot the ones who are not deterred when they see you pointing a gun at them....

How could a lock deter a criminal if they can get past it?

That is your logic with criminal background checks and mental health background checks, isn't it? If they can be circumvented, then there is no point in having them. Plus all those pesky keys create an 'undue burden'.

Do you ever study anything....

There are criminals who walk through neighborhoods simply turning door knobs on homes to see if the people left their doors unlocked, dittos cars....they then call in the house to see if anyone is actually home....and if so, they say they made a mistake and leave..if not...they rob the house...rape and murder also can happen this way. If the door of the house is locked they keep walking....that is why if you see someone in your neighborhood walking up to homes you should be alert as to what they are doing.....Irish Travelors do this a lot..........ask a police officer about this twit.

Then you have the criminals who don't care if the house is locked they bring tools...

So again...you are wrong......

Nope. Twit. I am cautioning gun owners who support mental health background checks that we need to be very careful in how they are created...because morons like you will abuse them and use them to deny guns to Vets, and anyone who saw a grief counselor........or can't sleep at night......and like this sherrif, will use them to slow walk gun permits for normal gun owners........

And yes...Poll Taxes and Literacy Tests that people like you used to keep blacks from exercising their Right to vote.....not a lot of money and people should know how to read..right? And you told blacks that Poll Taxes and Literacy tests were not an undue burden on that Right...

Dittos when people like you told blacks that they had to sit in the back of the bus and that it wasn't an undue burden...since they did still get to ride the bus..right?

People like you have used every trick in the book to deny people their rights....I am cautioning gun owners about people like you.

Easy fix, no guns.

You mean no guns for citizens, right? Only the government should have gun, right?
Nope. Only people who need to kill things. You know, why guns were invented and that's not most people.

Nope......the Realestate agent I posted about last night did not shoot anyone...even when he was facing two burglars....he put his hand on his pistol and he and his wife cleared the area and called the police...twit.....you are wrong and wrong again.....

This is one reason mental health checks for gun purchases can't pass muster.......they take too long. and the number of normal people buying guns vs. the criminals and crazies make it an undue burden on the Rights of law abiding citizens......which is why anti gun leadership is pushing for them......and their minions are following their lead...

As the article points out...this same tactic was used to disarm blacks after Republicans freed them.......the democrats kept blacks from getting guns through techniques like this.......

"Klan Compromise" Forces Sheriff To Break Gun Laws In NC

North Carolina’s relatively new (December 1, 2015) requirement to have mental health background checks on handgun purchasers hasn’t saved any lives, but it sure has created a mess as antiquated record-keeping systems run headlong into legal requirements for a timely search compounded by the demands of the North Carolina Sheriff’s Association to keep a Jim Crow-era pistol permitting system in place last year.

It may soon take as long to get a handgun as it does to get a machine gun. This is entirely absurd.

To get a gun permit in Mecklenburg County, there is a wait.

“It takes 10 days in California, six to seven weeks in Mecklenburg and now were hearing it might be six months,” said Larry Hyatt, gun store owner. “It’s totally unacceptable.”

Hyatt runs one of the busiest gun stores in the country. But there is nothing busy about a shelf in his store.
“These are handguns on hold while people are waiting for their permits,” Hyatt said while pointing at guns. “And this is just the G’s and H’s. There is almost 500 handguns waiting for permits.”

The number of permit requests flowing through the clerk’s office has been consistent, averaging 130 per month. But then in December, the number exploded to more than 2,000. And last month it was more than 2,500.

----------------.

Part of that compromise gave sheriffs only 14 days to approve or deny permits. The problem is the mental health checks have been taking far longer than two weeks.

“So it kind of puts us in a dilemma,” said Sheriff Irwin Carmichael, Mecklenburg County. “So we go ahead and issue permits and let everyone know in 14 days or wait till we get all of this medical information back? I’m always going to err on the side of safety.”

Translation: the new law is forcing the sheriff to break the law to keep the public safe.

So rather than speed up the mental health background checks.....you insist that we have none?

Same with criminal background checks I suppose?

And do you even bother with locks on your doors? Even bother to lock the doors on your car? Because you know those can be circumvented.

No twit.....this is a warning to people who support gun ownership but don't follow the actual actions when laws are passed....this shows that even when gun owners act in good faith with anti gunners...the anti gunners will use whatever they are given to prevent normal gun owners from exercising their Rights.........

Considering how many mentally ill people actually exist and how few commit gun murder and compare that to how many normal people are being denied access to guns for months........it is wrong to slow down the process...and wrong to trust anti gunners to not abuse mental health background checks to attack gun owners and gun rights....

Then wouldn't it make more sense to speed up the process rather than eliminate it?

Yes.......making the process faster would be great....and a benefit...but you guys don't want that.....just like this sherrif.....

Dittos for background checks...we can have a pass/fail system without any records pretty easily....but you twits oppose it.....you want the records on the gun owners....

Just buy more guns and ammo... It does America good
