Man Commits Suicide in Hospital After Wife Gives Birth

A Houston man shot himself to death in his wife’s hospital room on Sunday, 3 1/2 hours after she had given birth to their baby, police said.

“Family members said he has been distraught recently,” Houston police spokesman John Cannon said on Monday.

This is a sad story but why can't we have some areas that are safe from gun violence?

Hospitals? Schools? Churches?

Guns were not permitted there. So, he was acting illegally, whether or not had permit.

From the article:

Although Texas has a law allowing licensed firearms owners to carry concealed weapons, they are prohibited in many places, including hospitals...

It was a "gun free zone," for all the good that did...

At least no one else was harmed.

You apparently didn't bother to read the article. Guns are prohibited in hospitals in Texas. The man who committed suicide apparently snuck it in. So, unless you want everyone going into a hospital to go through a metal detactor or pat-down search...

Yeah, that's the ticket! Let's give the TSA jurisdiction over access to hospitals.

why shouldn't it be allowed?

you want to have a mass shooting in the hospital next?

I object.

No stupid gun-free zones in the hospitals.
