Only a very small minority protest. I was not at all worried that President Ford would take away from my graduation day.

Was he actually President when he did that? Because the Secret Service shows up with a lot more people for a sitting president than an ex one.

Yes, he was. And the security presence was not all that obvious.

That was a different world then, too.

Personally, I hope she does NOT attend...She should not be subjected to the kind of nastiness exemplified by many of the partisan posts here....And if she turns down the invite (which she would do graciously, as is her nature), I hope her detractors are made to recognize the great injustice they do...not just to the Obamas, but to those of us not poisoned by their hatred ...who actually care about the children of America and the values of inclusiveness and freedom with responsibility.

By the time the secret service got through with the traffic and security and the LSM were pissing behind trees on peoples lawns and the restaurant's bathrooms were destroyed the idea of having a graduation ceremony for those who worked so many years to get their diploma would be an after-thought.
Tell her to record something and have it played on a big screen at the local Lion's Club for anyone stupid enough to waste their time watching her read off the current batch of 'Talking Points' promising the Blacks "This time the LIBs really will do what we've been promising you dummies if you vote LIB this year."

IMO it is an honor for the the wife of the sitting president to speak at a HS graduation. However, in deference to the parents and family members, perhaps she should step back from this one.

I think the kids need to have someone within their own ranks do the talkin' or perhaps a local, successful business person who could inspire them to work hard; embrace the free market; save their money; and become the best they can be. Let's keep the "It Takes A Village" Socialist-like speeches for folks who are running for office on the Liberal platform.
