Will Republicans ever learn? Indiana governor to sign bill allowing business not to serve gays

The law in Florida and the Federal law are not the same

Indiana gave specific exclusions to business....basically

<wink> <wink> Claim you are doing it for religious reasons and you can't be sued

Sorry but you are wrong.

The Florida Religious Restoration Act of 1998 is almost identical to the one passed in Indiana. It is applicable across the board to include all activities in the state, including commerce.

Also there is no statewide sexual orientation anti discrimination law.

According to you stupid and silly little Moon Bats Florida is as bad or worse than Indiana.

Live up to your convictions and stay the hell out of Florida.

Obviously it isn't as anti gay as Indiana's (you even said almost yourself)...which means not anti gay enough for some.

the Indiana statute explicitly makes a business’s “free exercise” right a defense against a private lawsuit by another person
, rather than simply against actions brought by government. Why does this matter? Well, there’s a lot of evidence that the new wave of “religious freedom” legislation was impelled, at least in part, by a panic over a New Mexico state-court decision, Elane Photography v. Willock. In that case, a same-sex couple sued a professional photography studio that refused to photograph the couple’s wedding. New Mexico law bars discrimination in “public accommodations” on the basis of sexual orientation. The studio said that New Mexico’s RFRA nonetheless barred the suit; but the state’s Supreme Court held that the RFRA did not apply “because the government is not a party.”

Remarkably enough, soon after, language found its way into the Indiana statute to make sure that no Indiana court could ever make a similar decision.
Democrats also offered the Republican legislative majority a chance to amend the new act to say that it did not permit businesses to discriminate; they voted that amendment down.

Florida Republican Introduces Gay 'Revenge' Legislation

Religious restoration acts are never anti queer. They are designed to
protect the right of freedom of religion.

The Florida Restoration Act of 1998 was designed primarily to protect the right of Florida citizens to home school their children for religious purposes but it is worded to be applicable to all activities in the state, including businesses. Not much different than Indiana.

The Legislation may chose to strengthen it and that would be a good thing but as it stands it almost identical to the law in Indiana as far as substance goes.

The Act, coupled with the fact that Florida does not have a queer anti discrimination law, should be enough to keep any Moon Bat out of Florida.

However, most Moon Bats are hypocritical about things like this. They don't really have convictions on the bullshit they preach. If the kids want to go to Disney World then queer rights be damned, it is off to Orlando and the Magic Kingdom with a stop at the beach on the way.

Your being in Florida is plenty convincing as a "do not visit" state....fortunately I am also In Florida to bring reason , logic and good looks wherever I go ....

So does the Florida Religious Restoration Act of 1998. It has the same protection across the board to all activities in the state.

It is comical to see the Moon Bats try to weasel out of the fact that they are calling for a boycott of Indiana but other states do essentially the same thing, especially Florida.

Last year there were almost 100 million tourists come to Florida. I call for a national boycott like is being called for in Indiana. I am getting tired of all the traffic on I-4 and this would be a good way to keep all the Moon Bat scum out of the state.

Wilco Cancels Indiana Concert Over 'Thinly Disguised Legal Discrimination'

The alternative rock band Wilco on Monday slammed Indiana's new anti-gay "religious freedom" bill as "thinly disguised legal discrimination" in a tweet announcing that an upcoming concert in the state was canceled.

We're canceling our 5/7 show in Indianapolis. “Indiana Religious Freedom Restoration Act” feels like thinly disguised legal discrimination.

4:30 PM - 30 Mar 2015

Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy has been outspoken about LGBT rights in the past. Tweedy, a Chicago-area native, wrote a letter to his local newspaper in 2013 to urge Illinois residents to support passing same-sex marriage legislation.

Indiana officials over the weekend scrambled to contain the fallout from the newly enacted law, which critics say would protect business owners who refuse to serve gay couples because of religious objections. Top Republican lawmakers in the state said Monday that they plan to push for an amendment "clarifying" that the bill doesn't allow for discrimination.

Nobody is doing a speech

They are just applying their rights to freedom of association in the Constitution. They choose not to associate with states that discriminate

Same thing happened in the Civil Rights era where entertainers refused Jim Crow states

The harder you try, the more ridiculous you become.

Brought to us by the one who claims the 1st Amendment is a "big lie."

What you lack in credibility, you make up for in entertainment value.

Let's compare two events:

  1. A 19 your old women learns she is pregnant an goes to a clinic for an abortion. She is told she must wait 24 hours and must see a film showing an abortion, and both see an unltrasound of the fetus and listen to its heartbeat;
  2. A 19 year old women working the counter of a bakery is asked to prepare a wedding cake for two women who are happy to announce they will soon be. married.
Well?

I assume you are drunk to the point of near black out....

Perfect examples of the commonly used ad hominem when the poster is unable to respond with a thoughtful response, or rebutal.

Ironic post is moronic.

Pence vows to fix religious freedom law ensure no license to discriminate Fox News

LOL As the Crazy New Right continues its defense of the law - weakly, as can be seen by two of its members above - those who passed the bill, and the one who signed it into law, are backpedaling and attempting to pretend their real agenda was inclusion for all, but will fix what millions mistake as an effort to exclude. Only fools will believe this mendacious spin.

Q. Why do Rightest lie.

A. Because what the hold dear is anathema to the majority, and the truth would cost them votes.

I am sure all the queers and stupid Moon Bats will pull out all stops to further their agenda of hate and filth. They want anybody that doesn't accept the filthy ass homo agenda to be punished even if it destroys the constitutional right of freedom of religion. That is just the way those shitheads operate.

At the end of the day Pence is simply another politician that will sell his vote to the highest bidder.

It is sad to see the freedom of religion destroyed here in the US. This use to be a good country before the asshole Libtards came out of their pile of shit to spread their contamination. .

Radical Christians who have thwarted the teaching of Christ are what have downgraded the value of Christianity and threaten to destroy it. The fakery has been exposed and is further exposed when anti Christian laws like this one are forced upon the masses. Christian style Sharia law will not work in America.
