And compensation to MA companies can easily be fixed. It's an issue that can be addressed. We can't just see a problem and give up. When did that start happening?

We can at least recognize our past mistakes and not double down on stupid.

Not real simple. The government will take ownership of all the hospitals. All those employees will become employed by the government. The government will set all pricing and determine all procedures. Research and development - gone.

Many smaller hospitals will be forced to close further limiting care available to rural areas.

No, the ACA was doomed to fail this year. Literally this year. 2019. I wrote about it way back in 2012 on this forum.

This year, the ACA requires states to increase their share of the cost of the Medicaid expansion. Some states are going to buckle under that extra weight.

Also, the ACA was frontloaded with several years of taxes which were enacted before the subsidizing of the insurance exchanges. That frontloading helped pay for Obamacare while Obama was still in office. But now it must pay for itself without that frontloading, and it can't.

When Obama said Obamacare would not add one dime to the federal debt, he should have said, "At least while I'm still in office. After that, you're on your own."

The ACA was a stopgap. Obama knew damned well it would not last.

It is true that Trump and the Republicans have made it even worse. For sure. Trump should burn in hell for telling the Rube Herd that they would have "such great health care and at a tiny fraction of the cost" under his non-existent bullshit "beautiful plan".
