Not real simple. The government will take ownership of all the hospitals. All those employees will become employed by the government. The government will set all pricing and determine all procedures. Research and development - gone."Medicare for All" is just a political line. What they're after is pure Single Payer, not "Medicare (as it actually exists) for All".Medicare for All would be a windfall for insurance companies.
In other words, they're lying.
Exactly. The single biggest selling point of "Medicare for All" is that it's a simple expansion of an existing system, that it requires no new infrastructure. And that's probably how it will play out, despite the intent.
And compensation to MA companies can easily be fixed. It's an issue that can be addressed. We can't just see a problem and give up. When did that start happening?
We can at least recognize our past mistakes and not double down on stupid.

I don't see the government taking ownership of the hospitals. However, their only source of income will be the government and, as you say, they will set all the prices and determine all procedures.
Many smaller hospitals will be forced to close further limiting care available to rural areas.
Medicare would actually be STRONGER with a "buy in" whereby younger and healthier folks would sign up

Basic economics says single payer will save us money. They'd probably need a filibuster proof majority in the Senate. That's the only reason they got ObamaCare passed and that large of a majority only happens every few generations, but yes, I think ultimately in the future we probably will because the public is ignorant when it comes to basic economics.

As you know, that is a lie. Obamacare drastically increased the the number of many smaller hospitals closing, leaving many rural areas without local care.
Here;s an unexpected factoid for the uninformed, Canada has basically no military to support, doesn't finance the European countries slushfunds, doesn't finance nearly every world organization, doesn't contribute 1/1000th of the aid America does... I can go on.Canadians Are Now Paying Lower Income Taxes Than Americans
Here's an unexpected factoid: The tax rate for a married couple with one income and two kids in the U.S. is 12 times as high as the tax rate on the same family in Canada.

I've already elaborated on this thread. I've also specified my professional experience in this area. Look it up.Different, significantly. My point is that you clearly don't understand how the full Medicare system works, and unless/until you do, trying to discuss it with you is pointless.Your point?

CLEARLY!The countries whose health care you lust for, say Canada and Great Britain, they too have supplemental health insurance and private, cash only, physicians.
But of course, you wouldn't know that.

Please elaborate. Specifically, with your reliable source and working link thank you.
Now, I've asked you multiple times: What is your plan?
And please try to display some independent thought, and not a bunch of shallow talk radio talking points.
Looking forward to it.

That's the depressing hypocrisy of our system. Both sides will grab for more power at every opportunity.I've said many times that the day Donald Trump unveils a plan for single payer health care, the pseudocons will be all for it three milliseconds later.I think the very next time the dems the presidency and both chambers of Congress we’re headed for single payer healthcare.
It will happen if Trump wins a second term. He has always favored single payer.
And when it is his idea all of his sheep will say it is the best idea ever

wrong, it will never happen, the country cant afford it and Trump knows that.
your boy in the White House has always been a fan of it...and when he says it is good thing you will be on here telling us how amazing it is
the money is not really the problem.
We spend 3.5 trillion dollars a year on healthcare now. I have not seen any estimates for singer payer that was higher than that
In the beginning of their single payer program, Canada didn't have private health insurance. Private health insurance was actually outlawed. But then a lawsuit went all the way to Canada's supreme court.
There was a great line in the decision handed down: "Access to a waiting list is not access to health care."
So now Canada has private supplemental insurance.
Basic economics says single payer will save us money.
Exactly. Why in hell would we want health care to become a political football?WHat the left constantly forgets that EVERYONE - and I mean EVERYONE but a few absolute morons does not trust either the congress or the senate. THeir approval ratings are in the abyss.
YET - you want them to be in charge of your healthcare????????
