The allies owed billions to American corporations that armed them for 4 years. If the war is lost there would be multiple bankruptcies. Without American bodies, Wilson has no seat at the table in Versailles where the treaty was negotiated. We went in for mop up duty.

Canada entered the war when the British declared war on Germany on August 4, 1914. The British declaration of war automatically brought Canada into the war because of their status as a British dominion but it was up to Canada to determine their level of involvement. They went all in when Canada declared war on Germany. In 1939 they were no longer a part of the British empire and they went to war when Germany invaded Poland September 1, 1939. We sat on the sidelines until Japan`s attack on Pearl Harbor. It`s laughable that some people think Canada doesn`t need a large military because we protect them when history shows the opposite.
