Actually he works at Forbes Violins, was a Hydrogeologist at Idaho National Laboratory back in 2003, has an MS in Geological Sciences from the University of Washington and as near as I can tell has liberal leanings.

Agreed. From what I can tell on his Facebook page he's an environmentalist and nothing close to a conservative.. I've tried searching for the actual paper that commentary was in to understand the context, but I can't find it. My guess is that was submitted as satire.

But hey, it was on the Internet, so it must be true......
