With a shrinking EPA, Trump delivers on his promise to cut government

it will be strangely entertaining to watch all of these fine, upstanding dumb asses dying from all types of cancers & dreaded diseases after Trump has eviscerated the EPA.

Trump could walk into an evangelical church full of virgins & eunuchs, tell them all how great it is to grab pussy, and the next thing you know there would be a massive evangelical orgy happening.

It would be better than catholic priests raping children in any case ... ;)

P.S.

You got that church's address, by any chance? :D

LMAO

Wow.

Without government tyranny, we'll all die of cancer and other dreaded diseases!

This isn't the times of the industrial revolution. The power of social media makes it impossible for companies to profit off of dangerous goods and services. If you loons want an all powerful nanny state I suggest one of failed socialist utopias.

While you get your kicks at the thought of people suffering terrible deaths, there would be no need to cut the EPA if they actually did their jobs and stopped at protecting the environment as they are supposed to instead of being a strong arm fascist gestapo hell bent on destroying enemies of the state like Gibson Guitar! 80% of government agencies are pure self-serving fat entities unto themselves.

make sure to keep your family down wind from a giant coal burning electric plant, right across the street from a lead smelting operation, let them consume water from a polluted water source from a Super Fund site, and make sure to take them on vacations in places like Iraq where the wide open spaces are polluted with 'Made In America' depleted uranium. If they start to grow horns then they can be in the movies.

back in the day Gibson (Kalamazoo) used to make really good guitars but then Gibson lost it's way.

ALL Gibson has made for decades is over priced CRAP.

I have three of them and couldn't be happier. They all go up in value as well. My 1968 reissue is worth thousands today.

Basically Fender and Gibson get the same kind of wood. The difference was that Fender supports Democrat causes and Gibson supports Republicans.

I swear you leftists couldn't go to the bathroom without a bureaucrat there to wipe you when you're done. What makes you think that locals can't figure out problems for themselves? What makes you think our politicians can't?

Years ago the feds measured the pollution in our state. They didn't like what they found, so they forced us into E-Check. At first they used to put cars on rollers and gunned the engine to check the exhaust. Several people sued them because of damaged engines. They stopped that and started to use car computers for testing, and for older cars, simply tested the exhaust at idle to avoid being accused of causing damage.

It was mandated for certain counties, and most people in the state didn't suffer these ridiculous testing procedures. However they allowed a pass on our state capital because that's where all the politicians are. But even if you failed the E-Check, you could still drive your smoking car provided you paid $220.00 towards making it cleaner.

After several years and millions of dollars later, they tested the air again, and found no change since the original readings. Obviously a failed program. So what did they do? They forced us to keep the program which is still going on today.

That's why we need to get rid of bureaucracies like the EPA.

I like both Fender & Gibson style guitars. When I was a teenager I played Gibson style guitars; my main guitar was a SG II which was the bottom of the line SG, I think. I had some Gibson style knock offs; one of my favorites was a 1970s Ibanez, copy of a 1967 flying V. It was all mahogany, great construction, sounded really nice, ended up selling it & doubled my money. I could never afford the old vintage stuff back then, even tho' at that time the prices were not much more than new stuff. I have played some old, original Gibson & Fender guitars that were owned by other players in the area where I grew up. Some of those old guitars are dogs but many have the magic mojo. When I was 20 years old I bought a brand new Stratocaster for myself. I played Strats exclusively for 20 years until I was 40. Then I got back into the Gibson style stuff; just not the Gibson brand. I have owned about 400 guitars over the past 50 years & still have about 40, so about 10% of what has been thru my hands I still have. I have a lot of Les Pauls of various makes both with stop tails & ABRs, Standards, Customs, Specials, Jrs., I have two Flying Vs, down to one Explorer, and one Futura (YES). I have a ton of Strats, two Teles, and one Martin copy made with Spruce top, Brazilian back & sides, Mahogany, Ebony, MOP, & Abalone. All of that is knock offs but the quality is top shelf. I don't buy 'name brand,' why? I can get the same, or better quality, some times with better materials, for much le$$ than name brand. :3:

We used to have the same emmisions check in seven counties of Mpls, St. Paul.
Was repealed years ago by our Independent Gov. Jesse Ventura at the time.
Did nothing for cleaner air, and forced poorer people to fix perfectly working cars who had the least available funds for repairs.

Over here it created more crime. People were trying to get their cars registered outside of the county to avoid having to go through E-Check. Then the state had to setup sting operations to bust the people at Title Bureaus.

When they first started E-Check, we had a much larger population and our steel mills were in full operation. Our mills have shrunk and we lost a lot of people who moved out of the Cleveland area, and the pollution level was still the same as before.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, it must have something to do with the government.

Again, no one is anti clean air, water, and natural resources. There is no reason to have bloat at the EPA.

I had Fenders before but never cared for the sound. It's the wood--too light.

Playing in bands, it was tough to get used to the weight of a Gibson, but eventually I got used to it and actually felt better about it.

A former friend of mine was a guitar tech. He showed me how the wood makes a difference in the sound. Many believe the pickups only amplify the strings; that's not true. You can take the pickups out of one guitar, put them in another, and the sound is very different.

Although Gibson's are expensive, you really never lose any money on them unless it's a cheap made guitar. Years ago they came out with a Les Paul light. What a piece of crap. They only made them for a year or two, but I haven't seen one in many years. People just threw them away I guess.

I never cared for guitars like the Flying-V because it's very difficult to sit down and practice with those things. They kept sliding off your lap. When I was teaching, I had a few students that had those or a cheap replica. They spent more time pulling the guitar back up to play than they did concentrating on WTF they were doing.

I also have a 1978 Marshall 100 Super Lead amplifier. I never had it appraised, but I was told it's also worth thousands. It has eight tubes in it.

Fender guitars were made with ash bodies. Ash is an open grain lumber which requires grain filling for finishing purposes. Around 1956/1957 Leo switched to alder bodies. Alder is a closed grain lumber which requires no grain filler.
This switch from ash to alder saved time, effort, and money. Most of my Fender style stuff have alder bodies but I do have some with ash, and one of my Teles has a mahogany body. Any combination of body, neck, fingerboard materials will offer a different sonic signature but the differences can be subtle, to many ears. I have two Strats that are made with basswood bodies; basswood being inexpensive & not typically considered to be a 'tone wood.' I will have to say these two Strats are very lively, even loud played acoutically/unplugged. The basswood does seem to have a very aged, open, ringing, very resonant quality. I found this to be surprising.

I have seen many bands over the years & some guitar players really like to change out guitars, a lot. ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons is well known for playing a ton of different guitars. Before Billy went 'custom' he played a lot of old vintage gear. Billy got me interested in the so called 'Korina' (white limba) guitars from the Gibson 'Ted McCarty' era; the white Limba timbered Flying V, the Explorer, and the Futura. I have played these styles in differing timber configurations; limba, mahogany, and mango. My Vs are limba aka Korina & mahogany, my Futura is mahogany, and my Explorer is mango. I have owned Explorers in all three timber options. The guy (vocals/guitar) from Blackberry Smoke changes guitars nearly every tune; it's pretty cool.

My problem is I have permanent GAS. It's a terrible disease. LOL

Maybe soon we will be like China and won't be able to see the sky....
